Let's not be too silly. That would be an insult to Hakan Loob.
(If I wanted to be mean, I could say it was an insult to Paul Kruse, but I won't go th— Whoops! Too late.)

I always thought it was kind of cool to have the player's original rookie number. Just me I suppose..
Jankowski 77 would be kind of cool.

I think Klimchuck gets 14 because that was Nilsson's.

I think the more pertinent question is: Which helmet will they be wearing?

when is development camp? I guess we won't find out Monahan, Klimchuck, and Porier's potential #'s until then.

Bumping the thread/update: Was at scrimmage today, and my friend and I met Monahan. Nice guy, more on the quiet side but was great with the kids/families that were around. He did reveal he's going to use number 23, if anyone's waiting on that information.

I noticed Horak wearing 21 at camp. Was that just a shortage of numbers? Or did he switch?

Horak switched to 21. He said it was the number his father, Roman Horak, wore when he played pro hockey in the Czech Republic.

Sure. Bettman recinded the league-wide retirement of 99 just so Monahan can use it. Wayne is cool with that, though.
