So Kevin Martin is apparently signing with the TWolves for 4 years and $28 million. This makes the James Harden trade a near catastrophe, unless Jeremy Lamb really develops.

Because the Hawks are the only team who could potentially be contenders if he signed with them. Jeff Teague, Al Horford, Dwight Howard and the Hawks have the cap room to possibly sign both Tyreke Evans and Josh Smith/Iguodala in addition to Howard. That would be one of the best starting 5 in the league. Plus their new coach probably would utilize him better than any of the other 5 teams.

Houston - up tempo offense probably be a contender with him
Lakers - up tempo already saw how this played out
Mavs - system works but not a contender even with him
Warriors - not sure why they want him as they would need to do a sign and trade and the lakers would want Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes thereby making them not contenders

The Hawks are realistically his 2nd best option (not only me saying that many publications realize this as well). That being said I would rather the Hawks resign Teague and sign no one else but scrubs and crash and burn this season and get a top 5 pick in possibly the best lottery in the NBA ever. Get Wiggins/Parker/Randle/Harrison and then sign a couple big names next year with the giant amount of cap space.

The billboards are down. Howard is in aspen making up his mind. This malcontent can just leave this process proves he is clueless, even of the unthinkable happens and he returns.

Kobe being Kobe told Dwight that while Houston brought all there legends Hakeem and Clyde the lakers couldn't fit all there legends in the room. Haha awesome.

Hilarious hoe Houston sold there championship history, and legendary centers. All they have had is Hakeem.

A clueless person will always be clueless. My gut feeling is DH isn't the alpha dog he thought he was. He won't resign with the Lakers because of Kobe, D'Antoni and the LA press who weren't fond of him last season. Emotionally, DH is probably leaning towards signing with Houston where the grass is always greener. But LA does present more off the court marketing opportunities for him so he unsure.

Keven Martin signing with the TWolves devastated OKC. Even with Westbrook back, I don't think next year's OKC is better than this year's OKC without Martin.

Regardless where he signs, it'll be nice to not have to talk about this baby and his future anymore. The past two offseasons have made "The Decision" look like a brilliant strategy.

He's referred to himself as a alpha male, but he's not. He needs to be surrounded by top players all around to win. He carried a Orlando club to the finals in a weak eastern conference and he's finding out that this is the west. He's going to stay in the west and continue on his path of being overrated.

He's been a very annoying the past two years, was excited to get him but easily soured on him after a full season of having him on the lakers.

What's Andrew Bynum up to this days?

That whole trade worked for nobody except Orlando, which is ironic since most people figured they'd end up in the worst shape of everyone. Iguodala is likely gone from Denver, Greg Oden might be more attractive to teams than Andrew Bynum, and Dwight might not be in LA. Orlando has got to be feeling pretty good.

Sounds like golden state is in the mix now as well. I would prefer a move there so we can gut that roster and get some good players and a pick.

The 2008-09 Orlando team had Hedo playing at his peak and Rashard Lewis playing close to the all star level. It wasn't like Dwight said a bunch of nobodys. They overachieved by beating Boston without KG and Cleveland. It just showed how weak the East was at that time when they got steamrolled by the Lakers in the finals.

So much respect lost for Dwight. He'll never win a championship.

I cannot believe Golden State is considering making the mistake of going for Dwight. And if you're a Laker fan you pray he chooses them if he's not a Laker. Golden State means sign and trade for sure, which means Bogut or Lee and either Harrison Barnes or Klay Thompson are coming back to the Lakers.

Look at the guy. Yes he has the talent to be a champion but he just doesn't have the heart to be one. He goes on a team with one of the greatest winners in basketball history and he can't come up to the plate or sacrifice his stats in order for it to work. The only way he'll win a championship is if he's a complementary player. If a team thinks they can win a championship as him being the main man then they are seriously mistaken. Unless he drastically changes the big holes in his game.

There was a lot more wrong with the Lakers than Dwight last year. The Lakers problems had very little to do with him not coming up to the plate or sacrificing his stats.

Won't happen but Miami (and Dwight) should have been doing everything they could to force a Dwight sign and trade with Bosh going to LA.

Not great return for LA, but Bosh/Kobe/Gasol a decent core to make one or two last runs with Kobe and a better fit for the Lakers (and Bosh) than Dwight. Allows Gasol to have free reign inside with Bosh being the stretch 4 they need and obviously gives the Heat exactly what they need and Howard what he needs.

I think there is a 0 chance LA does it but it seems to make more sense for them than one would initially think.

It'll be either the Lakers or Rockets, and once its over we can hopefully never talk about Dwight again besides his abysmal free throw shooting...which is what he should be working on right now rather than attention whoring himself. Such is the life of a 27-year old with the maturity of a 6-year old.

^IMO there is no way it's the Lakers or he would have made a decision already. This getaway is to give Houston a couple of days to bring in Smith and then he will take his childish act to Texas
