It's Arizona or Seattle, there are no other options.

and I don't think Seattle is an option. It's just being used by the NHL in the same way as Katz tried to use them.

But Bettman just gave Canada another team. You got to think he's going to keep the next one in the USA. Seattle is a viable option given that Key Arena is not a very busy arena and has already been looked at accommodating a hockey team. Also, they are likely to start ground on a new building soon. Also they would not have to alter the divisions with a move to Seattle. KC is probably next on the list with Quebec City a distant 3rd.

Seattle doesn't get a new arena until they get a NBA team. When the NBA turned down the sale and move of Sacramento, it put a kybosh in the NHL's plans.

It will probably be about 5 years when Seattle gets their expansion NBA franchise and their new arena. That's when the Coyotes will move.

I dont think bettman is bluffing. I think there is pressure from the nhlpa and owners to get out of losing markets.

Deal happens today or they are gone tomorrow.

please just end it tonight, get it over with go to Seattle

I also think that Seattle could break ground on a new arena with an NHL team, the deal with the city now says NBA but I imagine they would reach an agreement

Not for this year, no. You'd end up with a Winnipeg-in-the-southeast scenario whether or not the union would support realignment now.

Not really. Funny is something creative. Aiming low with the obvious and tired cheap shot doesn't cut it.

Asked where they're going to get the 15mil, and they can't come up with a straight answer... Ouch.

That was someone from the prospective ownership group, not the Mayor.

Sounds like this is going to be approved, but man, some of these Council members are drinking the Kool-Aid.
