Sorry, but why? He wanted to stay in SJ, did not want to be traded, but when told he was, and it was going to be Calgary, he was excited.
Nothing to see here...

Saying if he wasn't traded to Calgary he'd be a bit more sour just doesn't seem like the best attitude to me.

sour because he liked it in SJ... but since they had to trade him, he's happy to come to Calgary.

Every player is a little sour when they get traded from a team they wanted to play for, no player should be happy to get traded from a good situation.
He is more stating that it being the Flames though made him happy, no more sour feelings about being traded.

wait how is it a bad thing he didn't want to get traded? shows commitment to the club
but then he was happy it was Calgary, because he specifically wants to play in Calgary
HOW IS THIS BEING VIEWED AS ANYTHING BUT GOOD?!?!!?!?!??!

The only dark cloud I can think of here is that Feaster might be on his way overboard in picking up too many similar players. But considering the length of the deal, it's a really small cloud.
Btw, I suspect the short length is at least in part because the Flames have a whole bundle of forward prospects that could be ready for NHL by 2014. Don't want to tie their hands by having guys under contract that might not work here.
Plus that contract should make him really easy to move at trade deadline if he doesn't pan out. Heck, if we end up moving him, it'll propably be a 2014 pick, which would speed up the rebuild

smart move.
the draft and trades like this make me feel better about Feaster.
low risk, high potential reward asset for the team

Lol come on now, his attitude is fine. He was given a list of teams who were interested and when calgary was one of them that became his preference over the other teams for obvious reasons. He's just trying to get his excitement across.

T.J. Galiardi called the signing a "no brainer," and said he's wanted to play for the @NHLFlames his entire life. #NHL

More Galiardi: "It's kind of a dream come true that it's finally going to happen."

Ah, maybe I misinterpreted the quote, don't jump down my throat people, I wasn't "reaching" for anything. CP's like a bunch of school kids sometimes. Anyway, nice to see some changes.

It does a lot for the culture of a team to have people that choose Calgary and want to be there

More Galiardi (who, in case it wasn't obvious, was pumped): "When they said Calgary, I didn't really need to hear the other teams." #NHL

When a player gets to play for his hometown team he plays with a little more heart. Playing in front of your friends and family every night is a big deal. I love this pick up!

Not much of a finisher but he will finish his checks and plays with speed. The new look Flames should at least be playing with more heart and effort on a game to game basis. Nice job Feaster.

The interview is up on the Fan960. Here's a link to the frontpage for the lazy: http://www.sportsnet.ca/960/
That interview sure doesn't make him sound like a "######", or that he's a bad guy in any way. Also sounds like he really loves Calgary.

I don't have a strong opinion of Galiardi. He spent A LOT of his time in SJ in the coach's doghouse. Not sure why - seems like a good guy, seems to put out effort - generally. He just never seemed to click in any roll with the team until late season he was thrown onto the top line with Thornton & Burns. He did fairly well with those guys. SJ's first round pick 2012, Tomas Hertl was tearing it up in europe last season and management seem to think he's ready. SJ also picked up Tyler Kennedy. I imagine that it is hoped that Hertl can be a top 6 and Kennedy can fill the bottom six well.
Could be a win for both teams, but there is a lot of upside potential for this guy if he really finds he stride. Just not sure yet, but I'd certainly call it a worthy gamble for CGY. Risking only a 4th...

This x 1000. It's refreshing to hear our recent draftees / signees talk about how they grew up wearing the Flaming C and how this is a dream come true. Klimchuk is another example. Knight, although he grew up rooting for Vancouver wanted to come to Calgary. Likewise with Monahan. Jones has ties to the city.
Love to see these players on our team.
