Yeah, most people wear board shorts nowadays. You have to be pretty long-balled to expose your boys in those.

Yeah that's how I roll. I also prefer the saxx style underwear at they feel good and smooth out the bulge.

I wear board shorts; I just don't like my Johnson flapping around when I walk. I need some containment, but I don't know if saxx are the answer, although I will try those as regular underwear. I guess I'm looking for board shorts with a bread basket.

I do a speedo under board shorts
Not necessarily a brief-style one, as the square cut ones are great

I don't get how dudes can comfortably wear boxers. My junk is just moving around everywhere. Don't get how ppl can wear something with zero support, unless of course they're small down there. Ahem. jk

Can't speak for the rest, but I just meant Saxx underwear in general is the bees' knees. Never worn underwear under a bathing suit before. Nut net + underwear, that's getting a little too busy down there for me.
But ya, Saxx...do it.

I tried driving in board shorts yesterday. Every time I had to clutch I'd slip into a lower gear until eventually I was sitting on my balls. Maybe this problem is also related to being in my mid-40s?

Well, first of all, boxer-briefs are a thing. If you're anywhere under the age of 55 you shouldn't be wearing briefs.
Unless of course, you never get laid.

Briefs of any kind? I'm confused? Let me know if there's a reason I shouldn't be wearing boxer briefs mid thirties.
As for board shorts - hated them at first but now love them.
So for surfing with them on - I wear a speedo underneath as I don't want to have them get ripped off when I bail (usually a bit baggy).

Hate to break the news to you, but people in my generation in their 40's wear briefs mostly. They grew up with them. People younger than that are likely into boxers.

That's news to me. The only people I have the misfortune of seeing in Jim Palmer-style Jockey briefs (aka tighty whitey) are some of the heart patient seniors at my local gym.
But a distinction needs to be made as there is an entire range of underwear choices between "briefs" and "boxers" namely that wonderful category of "boxer briefs." This category seems to be the preferred choice for men across all ages as evidenced by the sheer volume of boxer briefs carried by clothing retailers such as The Bay. Last time I purchased underwear the amount of boxer briefs for purchase was far greater than that of any other type of underwear.

for those of you who like saxx underwear, check out mypakage (available at the store spare parts in chinook or market mall)
I find them a lot better than Saxx. Same idea of a separate pouch for the boys, but instead of a mesh lining, mypakage uses a hole. perfect for hot summer days so your sack doesnt stick to your leg.
Plus the material is so much softer and i believe it's a few bucks less than a pair of saxx.

Are you seriously in your 40s?
Pretty sad a guy that old spends so much time trolling a Flames messageboard as you did.

Lenny: Internet?
Carl: Yeah it's the inner netting they invented to line swim trunks. It provides a comforting snugness.

The long board shorts that everyone wears suck. Get sun on those legs! Bring back the vintage board short!

To clear up some confusion for you old farts. For you there are 3 types of underwear:
Boxers
Boxer briefs
Briefs
For the guys of my generation (mid 20's), there are also 3 categories, containing the same types, but by different names:
Boxers
Briefs
Tighty Whiteys (even if theyre not white)
Not sure where the brief/boxer brief change over happened but that's what it is.
No for wearing underwear under swimsuits; can't fathom why someone would do it unless they are of an underarm our type material. Also have no clue how it would work if there was a ball-net. Also, ball-nets suck and get filled with sand. Commando board shorts ftw.
