Just glad the flames didn't overpay for him. I think he'll be an anchor contract in a couple years

4m seems to be the new going rate for a 2nd/3rd liner.

Horton is going to be asking $6 million and some team will give it to him. Better not be the flames.

I'd give him 6.5 for a one year deal...

If we get the power forward that Bicks was for 3 months this season, great...if we get the inconsistent floater of the past 4 years, terrible.

I'd be tempted to give Horton 4/25. Lower term but bigger cash. He's not a premiere player but he's a good placeholder and impact veteran.

I think we could use his 4 million better than Hudler's and I like Hudler. Great contract by Chicago here for Bickel, the guy was a main cog for that team down the stretch and spearheaded the claw back against Detroit, hurting Kronwall in game 5 and getting the 1-0 goal, and getting the 3-2 goal in the 3rd in game 6. He's a big game player who's a big body that we need. Really wanted him in the off-season to sign here.

My suspicion is that this will play out like the Penner contract, but who knows, maybe he is more professional and motivated. The Hawks seem to have a pretty good handle on who has the character they want.

Well he is no David Jones for that 4 million...
...and just a note I actually like the acquisition of Jones...

If he plays with the likes of Toews and Kane he will be just fine.

I'd rather have Hudler. He's consistently been a creative offensive veteran for quite a few years. I think Bickel needs to be surrounded by studs to perform the way he does. There's no way Bickel could be the main force on a line.

That nice playoffs he just had might have made him an extra 6 million dollars. Well potentially, if he gets bought out after this season than it's only 4.5.
