Default RW Prospect Depth - How does Calgary address this?

Right Wing
Akim Aliu (RFA)
Greg Nemisz (RFA)
Bryan Cameron (RFA)

Three players. That's it. All of whom are RFA's that should probably not even be offered a new contract to.

They have a ton of LW'ers, and decent Center and Defensive depth.

But that RW group... it's painful to look at.

EDIT - Now that I know Poirier is actually a RW, I'm feeling less concerned. Still not a lot of depth in the position, but it's a great start.

I'm really hoping we can get a 2nd rounder here. We need to get some depth on that RW in terms of prospects.

Hell, we need defense prospects as well.

The Flames will only purchase right shooting sticks and force everybody to learn.

Draft isn't over. This rebuild won't be finished by one draft.

Grab a free agent or two, shift a LW to the right side if any have the capability. Acquire someone in a trade.

Long time between now and September.

I would not doubt that one of the 2 guys we drafted today can play RW.

Some of the LW in the organization may be able to play RW.

Horak also has been playing RW down on the Heat

Poirier is a lw'er. Jankowski ahead of Reinhart

Wingers can switch sides pretty easily. It's not like going from D to C or something. I could see Klimchuk maybe being switched over to the right side as quite a few snipers/shooters prefer to be on the off wing.

The real look of the team is 3-4 years away. Nothing to worry about now.

An observation of Poirier's youtube highlights, almost all of the footage is generated from the RW. He's listed as a centr, but he sure likes to play down the right side. May foreshadow how he fits with the Flames going forward.

Through multiple drafts or trades in future years. This team needs multiple years to stock the cupboards.

Thought Ferland was a RW, not a LW?

Craig Button says Poirier can play either wing.

Klimchuk Monahan Poirier

Makes me a little happier if Poirier can play both wings and Center.

Complete and utter failure for the Flames not not address this hole. Why were they wasting picks on centermen? They should have solely picked RW. This sets back the organization by at least 25 years.
