He did seem to be a good interviewer, even if Duthie needed to bring up paintball. Not that it matters too much on how well he plays hockey but I understand leaning towards the kid who can stay compose and answer questions instead of "ah..like..um go out and give out like 110%."

I'm quite pleased with the first round for the Flames. Disappointed we couldn't get one defenceman out of the picks, but it seemed everyone wanted to pick D around the 10-20 picks. Very happy to see no goaltenders as well, looks like all three guys have decent skills as well.

Today, sure. But Poirier and Klimchuk are 2+ years away. Target that skill, and hope they force you to move another LW to fill other gaps.

Calgary would probably be facing less criticism if they took Klimchuk at 22 and Poirier at 28.

Morgan is a player who plays with tremendous determination and consistency. When you watch him, one would never know the score of the game because he plays at the same high level all the time. He's smart and has the ability to complement others and make them better. He has excellent understanding in all areas of the game and he makes the 'right' plays continuously. He can beat you with a pass, a shot, a strong play along the boards and a defensive play. He is multi-dimensional in his play and when you combine that versatility with the IQ and the determination, you have a player who helps teams win in all of the substantive areas. He's a strong skater who is always up to the pace but always finds himself at least a half-step ahead because he so attuned to what is happening and what could happen.
