Four of the past six picks have been a little "off the board." At this point, you just try to get your guy and don't try to guess where other people have them ranked.

on the plus side, watching Shinkaruk vs Poirer will give both sides endless entertainment for years to come...

Shame they don't have their 2nd round pick as some good looking players still available.

Great pick. Surprised they did not take a D in the first round but i do like what all 3 forwards bring.
I do however really want to see this list Feaster speaks of.

Development of the players who we have drafted is the key, lets not count anyone out just yet. It will be interesting to see if we rush any of these guys to make the jump to the flames this coming season.
I don't care what happens for the rest of the draft, i am just excited to see how the rest of the summer pans out. Should be fun to watch the transition for the Flames this year.

From the looks of it, Shinkaruk couldn't catch Poirier if he wanted to. Dude can move.

I don't know much about the draft, but I do remember a lot of people crapping all over the Jankowski pick, and he seems to be developing rather well.

I thought it was clear that was intended to bring some levity. Do what you want and I'll respond like I want including disagreeing with people I think are being silly.

Feaster does exactly what he said he'd do: stick to the list compiled by the scouts and take BPA. And it isn't Feaster who made the list. It was his decision to trust his scouting staff, but every single interview of a Calgary brass or scout going into the draft said that they would focus on getting their list together and sticking to it. I suspect Feaster is being 100% honest that they took 3 players in their top 13. So everyone who disagrees is 100% entitled to wonder if other scouts know more than the Flames scouting staff, but you can't criticize the team for doing anything but what they said they would do.
