This kid wouldn't be available at 28?
Going against the grain is okay when you've demonstrated success. When you're a bad, bad franchise, going against the grain makes you look like clowns.

Don't mind the pick, hate the fact Feaster mentioned him as being in their top 10.

Flames are going to be bad for a long, long, long time. Best potential to go and properly rebuild a team...

SUNRandySportak I get #Flames fans wanted Shinkaruk, I did b/c it's a great story, but this kid can skate and score and is 6-1. He's not Kris Chucko

Pretty much. So after getting three picks in a deep 1st round the Flames end up taking a guy that was projected 2nd round and trading the first rounder. Not happy at all so far.

You all overrate Shinkaruk immensely. He's a poor team player and rode Etems coat tails playing on the Tigers.

What if.. what if - the Flames heard that someone else was high on this kid and maybe just maybe he wouldn't have been available at 28. Why is everyone so eager to assume the Flames management doesn't know what they are doing because they didn't do what people expected?
