Some? Monohan must have been the word of the day the past week on Team1260. I didnt hear Lindholm, Nurse or Rastulainen once.

For a guy I heard was soft spoken he did well in his interview with Duthie after being selected by Calgary.

Welcome to Calgary Sean!!

I missed the "scouting report" Monahan. Skating, Ice Q, etc ranked out of 5. Can someone please provide them? Thanks.

he had the choice between Monahan and Nichuskin really. If he went off the board with an outlier people would have melted down.

I am sure one of his supporters will pump his tires about the genius behind the selection too....but it was almost as much of a no brainer as picking Stamkos at #1 and then given credit about "what a great selection" it was...

I think he had 5 in everything except shot and something else (skating maybe?)

That said, I am very happy with the selection of Monahan too.
IMO Monahan is better suited to the West and Lindholm to the East. Mono is a fairly big dude I'm happy to see on this team.

regardless, i think Calgary couldn't go wrong with either one of the kids...so the fact that we got one of the two makes me very happy.

Glad Flames picked up this guy. Finally some centre depth appears to be building in our prospect.

Here's a link to his interview with the TEAM1200 shortly after the pick, in case anyone cares to listen:
