Scott Cruickshank ‏@CruickshankCH 11s At the draft-floor rail, someone just speculated that the B's are simply trying to spook Tyler Seguin with trade talk. #pndraft

That's why I said for comparison's sake.

But yeah. Also, we have the 22 and 28th picks, around where Getzalf (19) and Perry (28) were drafted in '03, again for the sake of comparison.

So since the Oilers have yet to emerge as a potentially interested party this scare tactic hasn't exactly worked?

What would you accomplish by spooking a player like that?

That's some dumb "speculation".

Yeah Bostons too smart for that, they probably really wanted to see what is out there that can make them a better team. They are in a good position to do that. I am sure they fielded a lot of calls.

Rumor from a good source that the flames are very close to getting Seguin.

Dreger said the Flames giving up the 6th would have been too much.

I would think Seguin will be better and much closer to hitting potential than anyone at 6.

Maybe we see a Cammaleri (half salary), Gio and 22,28??

If you insert Cammy instead of Jagr there's a good chance the bruins win it.

Really? I get the buzz on players like Monahan and Lindholm, but Seguin has already showed he can be a 70 point player. Those other 2 have upside but they have not done anything yet.

@HackswithHaggs Gotta love #NHL Draft. Boston College coach Jerry York just asked me if @johngaudreau03 was going to the bruins #BruinsTalk #tradechatter

All he said was that the price was a little too steep for Calgary to give up the 6th. It does seem odd.

Neither has MacKinnon (or anyone else) kind of a given with picks don't you think?

I would love to have Seguin. But I also really don't want to trade Gaudreau. I think he's going to be a star.

I have a feeling that if Calgary trades for Seguin that the team will regret the deal and the Bruins will rally the deal into another massive win, a la the Maple Leafs deal. I just have a really bad feeling about these short-cut moves. There is a reason why we have one of the worst prospect pools in the NHL; we are not a patient team or invest in the future.

My feeling is Gaudreau is going to play for Boston with or without our help

How is it shortcut? Seguin is only 21 and projected to be a franchise center. His ceiling is higher than Monahan/Lindholm.
