I'm not 100% convinced that Schneider is better than Dubnyk.
I'd say they are pretty much a toss-up right now.
So I hope that some sort of trade can be worked out, preferably one which will hurt both clubs.

Schneider is what 1-4 in 6 career playoff starts? If they can get Edmonton to part with the 7th pick in this draft they should make this trade. They should have traded Schneider two years ago, instead they let their top players get two years older and created a ton of conflict in the crease.

Which is perfect for the Oilers since they won't be in the playoffs anytime soon.

1-4 with a .931 sv%. Not hard to see who to blame for the W/L record.

Might want to get your eyes checked if you think Schneider/Dubnyk is a toss up.

Well he was bad in this years playoffs...granted it was coming off an injury. Last year yeah, he had good numbers. The other start he gave Chicago a goal misplaying a puck behind the net. Also left early with an injury, and to this date still has not played 50 or more games in a single season. So given the trade market for goaltenders...I think the 7 pick is a really good return for Vancouver especially if they shed the entire cap hit.
ARe you happy with how the Canucks have handled the goaltending situation the past year? You don't think Gillis has flip flopped on Luongo from making him captain and giving him a 12 year contract...to wanting to trade him...and potentially keeping him and than trading the other guy?
My biggest beef with Feaster is that he's flip flopped on what he wants to do with the Flames.

if it's true he's on the block, oilers should really use gagner as a chip to get him or to bolster other holes in their lineup.
they already have a small skilled center in the top 6. you can't win close games (ie. the playoffs) with 2 tiny centers as your top 2.

Not surprised. Everything MacTavish has said argues strongly he is heading for a Doug Risebrough moment. I would rather it did not directly benefit the Canucks, however.

Ryan Rishaug @TSNRyanRishaug 8m Demand for Schneider has very high, unless it comes down, the Oilers will be out.

I just hope the canucks are screwed either way.

Gillis seems to have no understanding of goaltender worth on the market. Goaltenders simply never fetch as much as marquee players of other positions. But it seems he thinks his goaltenders are going to net him first round picks and top prospects/players.

Not sure what he's reading but he's not going to get a top 10 pick for Schneider.

I wonder if maybe the Oilers were willing to give up the 7th, but the Canucks wanted more and the Oilers weren't willing to do that.

An Oiler fan, reporting what Canucks fans are doing, on a Flames web site.
I mean, who cares what they're saying.

I presume CDC is a Canucks forum. BC has some of the best pot in the world, but i think they are smoking something other than pot if they think they can get that return. Does "crack" even get you high enough to think a trade like that is possible?

I'd rather take Luongo for practically free than trade 7th pick ++ for Schneider. Maybe that's just me though?...
