The bus driver probably saved their lives by driving around, instead of through, certain parts of Newark. He should probably thank him.

"We're real excited to find out who we get (Sunday)," said Poile. "Because if all goes well, there's about six players that could be what I call franchise players. And they're the guys that are going to take us to the promised land for the next several years."

And the beauty of reversed draft/standings order, is that if we did F up this draft, we'll suck again next year and have another shot! The real danger is years of incompetent management (see late 90's/early 2000's).

Not surprised. That part of Jersey can be a real clusterfata. All sorts of overpasses/interstates/weird turnoffs etc etc.

3 mins between picks doesn't give a lot of time to make a trade if someone falls unexpectedly in the top 6.

Each GM is allowed five 5-minute timeouts I believe.

Teams will have potential trades worked out before hand and in previous years teams were allowed time outs IIRC.

Even with the timeouts, I think they should've given them more time for the 1st round so teams a little more breathing room to talk and deal. At least 5-6 minutes.
This draft should've started in the AM, imo. I'll be mid-afternoon in Jersey by the time it even starts. Thats a lot of action in a small amount of time.
