I'm sure you wouldn't have gotten one hundredth of the points Messier got playing with Gretzky... whether you can skate or not.

No. Messier doesn't deserve that.

They never played on a line together. So no, you couldn't.

Messier thinking he could be coach is as laughable as Mario Tremblay thinking the same thing a decade and a half ago. Stupidly, Montreal hired him anyway.

For a counter-example, see Dave Semenko.

I remember one of Gretzky's wingers holding out after a 40? goal season. Slats said a fire hydrant could score 40 goals playing with Gretzky.

Wouldn't it be funny if Messier came to Calgary to take the new executive position with the Flames?

I hear Slats also told Paul Coffey, when trading him to Pittsburgh: 'You'll never win the Stanley Cup again.'

I think MacDonald (Blair?) got 48 in Gretzky's 1st NHL season.

It was definitely BJ MacDonald. He was traded to the Canucks while he was at his dying mother's bedside.

Sather earned his sneer and some here suggest his boy, Messier should join the Flames.

Well said, possibly some head butting going on there.
