The asking price is a first+prospect for Schneider. This move makes so much more sense for the Canucks as I believe that Luongo is a better goalie and gives them the best chance to win the cup. If Edmonton is the frontrunner I imagine the trade would be 2014 1st+B prospect (Lander) but I'm just guessing.

I think Gillis is going to be very disappointed on the possible returns for Schneider. He can't admit his Luongo failure so instead of doing the right thing and buying him out he is considering trading Schneider.

It would be great if they ended up trading Schneider and were still stuck with Lou's albatross contract. All because Gillis is so smug and arrogant he could never admit the contract was a mistake and wouldn't trade him when he had numerous chances to do so because he was asking too much.

I would not be surprised at all that Schneider is traded because no one wants Luongo. With all the lies Gillis has told about many teams interested in Luongo, it would be too embarrassing to admit that so instead they trade Schneider to try and save face but will be followed with more lies about how they have regained their trust in Bob and feel he is the man for the job.
Gillis really messed this up and when it's all over I bet he comes out of it with egg on his face.
I think at this point he is just hoping to do something to save his job.
