IMO gaudreau plus 22 and a good contract like glenx = Tyler and 60.

We get a good young centre and a solid defencemen to play with Brodie.
Boston gets Glencross to replace the "A" that is going to be left by Horton and Ference, Baertschi to fill up a wing, Gaudreau they can turn into a hometown hero and a 6th pick that will probably be traded away in another package deal to another team.

This would get Feaster fired on the spot.

I'm all for giving up a significant return for Seguin, but anything that includes the #6 AND Baertchi, let alone AND Gaudreau ++ is (Hopefully) completely ridiculous.
If that's the cost, I'll happily take Lindholm or Monahan at 6, this is just getting out of hand.
22 + 28 + Gaudreau - sure
6 + Gaudreau - yeah I'd probably do that too
6 + Baertchi - go $&@# yourself

It is clear I am talking about the proposed trades in this thread. Others got it fine it is just you and your obsession with my posts that is going on about it.

Likely is a pretty strong word here. And if he does end up being as good, by the time the Flames end up caring about cap space, guess what he'll be making?
I'd be more than content if the Flames kept the 6th, especially because I think it would be the 6th+ for Seguin, but if anyones making a proposal for Seguin and not including it or an equivalent asset their proposal isn't realistic.
Unless of course Seguin doesn't have the best attitude which has been alluded to a couple times.

So you think Sven is mediocre? Glencross is mediocre? Giordano is mediocre?
As for being obsessed with your posts you really need to lose the tin foil hat.

Glencross, yes. Giordano, yes based on last year. Sven has a lot to show too early to say mediocre but far behind Seguin. Stempniak (who was mentioned as well in trades) yes.
If not obsessed you spend a lot of time whining about them and looking for things that aren't there in them.

I think that's why it's probably a realistic trade. Let's face it, the guy isn't that bright. And Boston is going to be a little PO'ed about the Iginla thing so if we want Seguin, we are going to be overpaying more then the normal Feaster stupidity.

Does it? Bruins are probably going to let Ference walk because he can be replaced by younger, cheaper options. They can't afford Giordano as a #4 dman.

So let me get this straight...
You're proposing a trade whereby the Flames get completely hosed because, being Boston, just getting hosed isn't enough?

I'm saying if we want Tyler Seguin, the price is probably going to be something steep like that.
Whether the Flames Management chooses to get hosed like that is up to them.

Incorrect. GMs don't hold things against other GMs when it's the player who made the decision to go to another team which was well within his rights with his no trade clause.
And Feaster is bright...much brighter than many many posters in this forum. I hate that people think he's an idiot. You may not agree with his philosophy or a particular move or two, but the man is far from stupid.

I think they might be looking for more high-end depth after the playoffs this year. Giordano for his price point gives you a solid #4 at a pretty good price point for a little bit longer than Seidenberg at 3.2 in the last year of his deal.
I think Ference is leaving because he's a 2.225 million dollar 5-6 guy. Giordano is a solid top 4 with offense, different scenario for the two.
McQuaid is a bottom pairing guy. Having him in your top 4 isn't ideal for a stanley cup contender. He's competing more with Ference/Hamilton/Krug/Bartkowski than he is with Boychuk or Seidenberg.
I think that team is missing a two-way defender, and Giordano has a friendly deal in that capacity.

Boston wants top 10 pick and all star caliber player.
6th + Bartschi + something else would be fair.

We don't have the right assets for Boston. The need a right winger. The trade would have to include #6 or Sven.
Sven + 22 + 28
or all 3 of our firsts.
Seguin would be great to get. Barkov or Mackinnon while they have potential they are unknown NHL quantities. With Seguin you know what you get.
As for the notion that the 6th pick would barely be an upgrade over Seguin? Laughable and far from the truth.
Lindholm
Zibanejad
Connolly
OEL
Filatov
Gagner
Brassard
Brule
Montoya
Michalek (ultra deep 2003 draft)
With the exception of OEL, you would have to significantly ad in order to get a player like Seguin.
I'd love to see Seguin in a Flames jersey even at a perceived high cost. Players like him do not become available regularly.

Jesus, I hope someone locks Feaster in a closet until after the draft. I think he's like a lot of the posters on this board and and want to make a trade just to make a trade, especially if it is splashy, regardless of the long term outcomes. Scares the hell out of me.

He might be more trigger happy than the average GM, but when you see the holes on this roster going into next year, how could you not be?

That's why you be patient. This isn't NHL 14.
