I wouldn't give a 3rd for Schneider. I'd give Bryz a 3 year deal at 5 per before giving the nucks a damn thing.

if it's actually legit it's the right hockey move to make, I said right after the season I would trade Schnieder
Luongo + great Schnieder return is a better team than Schnieder + a poor Luongo return
the type of teams that could be interested (Philly, Winnipeg etc.) have the young top 6 forwards the Canucks desperately need

Agreed, except that a lot of water has passed under the bridge. Too much? hard to say
Oh, as for Flames... no way - don't want to help the Nucks out of their jam

He was not talking about it business wise, he was talking about Luongo mentally being fine staying in Vancouver.
Luongo seems like a great guy, but he knows that the managment would rather have Schnieder and same could be said about most of the fans. Not sure how he feels about being the 2nd choice?

oh ya it would be completely up to if they felt Luongo could play, I think with a new coach who can say ('it was AV who wanted Cory #1, I want you as my guy...") and there's never been any issues between him and his teammates
if they had to make it happen I think they could, but it does depend on that
can always tell him it's either this or we put you on waivers and Edmonton picks you up

I don't think anyone picks him up on waivers

If nucks fans want to gauge their goalies worth, see the Jonathan Bernier deal.
It could be debated Schneider is worth more but an equal argument could be that his return would garner less simply because the nucks are in such a terribly tight spot with th two-headed monster, the cap drop and the win now mentality.

Because we must be in on every player in some way, in order to frustrate us more before the draft tomorrow.
Although the truth of the matter is with out limited assets there are very few players that we could trade for, and even fewer players we should be interested in trading for.

To raise the price... If Calgary is offering 6th + prospect, Edmonton and others have to offer more

LOL Calgary is not offering the 6th pick. Let's just get that ridiculous notion out of this thread.

If that's what you think the Canucks will be getting, boy are you in for a disappointment. Look what the Leafs gave up for Bernier as comparison.

I think someone threw out that proposal as a complete joke.
Why are people still running with it?

Also, goaltending wasn't really the oilers' problem last season.

At his best, Dubnyk won't hurt the Oilers. But he's not a gamebreaker. And no goalie should get the kind of return the Canucks are expecting. But when you have a clearly impatient and novice GM in MacTavish, the Canucks do have an opportunity to rape the Oilers.
From the Flames perspective, Schneider is worth neither Baertschi nor the sixth pick. I might consider the 28th pick, but only the 28th pick.
