I think the Oilers would be willing to move 7th + a prospect / young player outside of the big four, but no way that package includes any of Eberle, Hall, Yakupov, or Nugent-Hopkins.

There is good potential for all three western Canadian teams to stink next season. Misery loves company.

First round pick and a prospect? Lol yeah because goalies always bring a great return. Keep dreaming Canucks management.
Most overrated goalie in history. 55 NHL games of experience. LOL.

Also I hate to break it to you guys, but the Canucks aren't winning a cup with either Schneider or Luongo as the starter. So they might as well trade Schneider and restock that empty prospect cupboard.
|
You're not getting any prospects worth writing home about so that cupboard will still be dry.

No way. The Oilers are better off drafting Nurse, Lindholm, Ristolainen, Zadorov, or Nichushkin than having Schneider. They can find another goalie.

If the Canucks do trade trade Schneider they will get something good in return.

The Canucks are between a rock and a hard place, they have to do something whether its trade Luongo or Schneider and everyone knows it.
Schneider isnt enough for their cap relief so they cant take salary back.
I'd be throwing lowballs at them because they have to do something, they have little to no bargaining position.

I doubt Edmonton would trade the 7th overall plus a prospect. I would prefer them keep the 7th overall and take nurse, Monahan or Lindholm.

They probably are but that isn't the big move Mac T wants to make.

I think Dubnyk might be just as good as Schneider now, why do the Oilers want to trade for him?
Dubnyk unhappy?

Forgive me for being a hockey puck, but please enlighten me how these statements go together? If Schneider isn't a capable of helping the Canucks to the Cup, how can you expect any good for him?

I think this trade will help out both our rivals, Vancouver will likely get some of the oilers spare offensive pieces and Schneider will be a huge improvement over dubynk

Edmonton. The Canucks area already on the downward trend no matter what they get back...I don't think anything they can get will push them back into being cup contenders. Edmonton is (well, theoretically at least) on the move up, so I wouldn't mind seeing a few of their good assets get shipped out.

The way the Canucks team is currently constructed no goalie is going to lead that team to the cup. Schneider will help a team like the Oilers and if these other rumors are true about the Oilers, then they will be a playoff team for sure

Would Luongo want to go back to a GM and a team that didn't want him? Seems to me like the Canucks have crossed a line of no return here but out of their own failures are trying to make a bad situation worse especially trading Schneider to a division rival.

Schneider is definitely better than Dubnyk. Not way better, but definitely better
