I'm going around 10 goals, 15 assists.

I think the issue is going to be how many games will be lost due to injury as he doesn't seem to be durable. The last 2 years he's missed time due to a Concussion, Groin Injury, Neck Injury and Hip Flexor. I don't expect him to play more then 60% of the games this season and I do think he's going to be making a trip back to Abbotsford before we get to January.

Again, don't see the hype around the kid. I really don't.

Do we remember what happened last season? Sven barely saw a minute of PP time during his first stint. I wouldn't be surprised if people were calling Hartley out after 10 games for Sven mismanagement again.

But realistically, 35 points would be nice. I don't think his breakout occurs next season.

All the more reason for northwards of 40.

Yeah, but Hartley did a complete about-face after Iginla and Bouwmeester were traded.

And once Baertschi's situational ice-time improved, so did his production.

I would think 40-45 pts would be a good year and 50-55 pts would be an awesome yea.

Geez, you guys have low expectations of a guy that scored a tonne of points in junior and didn't look out of place in the NHL near the end of the year when he finally started to figure out what it took to succeed.

The guy is DRIVEN. He has higher expectations for himself than any fan at this point.

I for one would not be shocked to see him rack up a LOT of assists and score around 20 goals. He doesn't quite have the body yet to score goals in the dirty areas, but he has amazing vision and sick hands.

I predict 19-22 goals and anywhere between 30-55 assists depending on his line mates. That means the low end is admittedly around 50 points but the high end is pushing 80 points.

...and no I'm not drunk.

Oh, and remember that this team will still score it's fair share of goals, it's defense and goaltending that will lose us a lot of games.

80 pts? Who is the last rookie to do that? Crosby?

I hope they don't screw with him too much.

I don't think they will, the dressing room is different now. Maybe extract a couple more guys from it to really give it a good cleaning, but, most of the stink is gone I think.

No politics for minutes, just give Baertschi a boatload of time in situations where he can get used to handling the puck without being crunched or stripped moments later, and he could be one of the leading scorers on the team.

Will the flames have a guy that scores 35? Based on the roster today, probably not. 20 goals is a unlikely but reasonable goal for Baertschi I'd say.

I think 40 pts like a lot of people if he sys healthy. IMO he will skew more towards the goal side. I would not be surprised to see him get 20 goals. But I don't think he can last a full season unless he adds some beef this summer.

Given his improvement over the course of last season in both the AHL and NHL, I'm guessing Sven will be in the neighbourhood of 20 goals and 30 assists, likely 50ish points.
