Man, we're just following the Oilers PR blueprint. Just stop talking and make the team better Jay.

Drouin vs. Monahan/Lindholm & Gaudreau....

I'd stick with the latter to be honest.

Is Drouin better than Gaudreau? Possibly/Probably. But he's not going to put up the points himself that Monahan/Lindholm would instead of another center prospect in the system.

While Quality vs. Quantity is something the Flames management has struggled with lately... this is the case where you have 2 very quality pieces vs. 1 very quality piece.

Don't forget... Gaudreau has had an extra year to develop vs. this year's picks, so there's a better feel for where he's at. The risk is less for him to drop off as far as potential goes vs. those drafted this year.

Wish Feaster would shut up...sounding very Kevin Lowe-ish.

This loophole with NCAA players should have been closed with the new CBA - it might be frowned down on in the hockey fraternity but kids these days don't care...if they know they have the right to choose their team more and more of them are going to be me-first and do it. It's just a byproduct of the general attitude of the millenials (is that what they call them now?).

Weisbrod and the Flames love drafting their NCAA guys and hopefully they stop doing this - in 10 years from now NCAA guys may have a similar reputation to Russian players now - a stigma that keeps teams from spending valuable picks on a guy who is a flight risk.

It's not a good trend.

Well I'd be interested in hearing how he responded to the Schultz discussion being brought up.

As for being surprised at how hockey mad we are, American and Euro players always are the first time they play in Canada.

Jokinen told a story in the Herald in his first year here when a kid approached him on the street... Oli assumed he was about to give an autograph but the kid simply asked him what went wrong in the game the previous night.

For a guy that likes to take a jab at the Oilers every chance he gets, its getting funny that he is becoming more like them.

Not sure "funny" is the correct word to use.

It's "funny" because it's a joke. Moments where he feigns offence when Millions says 'Oil Change' in an interview when he's basically drafting off of the Oil's gameplan in the tank race is comically hypocritical.

I for one would be super pissed to see Gaudreau packaged at all. For once, just once, can we let a guy get an actual shot before we gift him to someone? Everyone's calling about Gaudreau, shouldnt that be a sign that maybe we should keep him?

I think packaging our best prospect with what would be our second or other best prospect for 2 spots in the draft is completely asinine to me.

I still fail to see why so many people on here get so twisted over Feaster's comments. 29 other teams are smart enough to already know the Flames are open for business, so really what's the big deal here?

I have not once seen anything stated to the media that isn't already clearly obvious to everyone and their dog.

To some perhaps it stinks of desperation to get deals done or whatever, but jeezus who cares, everybody knows we're in the mix to get deals done, to rebuild, there's no freakin secret about any of it so stop whining. It's media jargon people, MEDIA!!!

Flames fans are starting to get such an inferiority complex that they're using the Oilers as a comparison time and time again...

Stop it. The moment we draft 3 top picks and still suck balls, then you can start comapring to the Oilers, but as far as I'm concerned we're still, at least for now, on a much better path than those greasy losers...

Out of thanks, but thanks. The temper tantrums whenever anything is said by Feaster are getting embarrassing. Draft day should be entertaining to say the least.

Full feaster talk... responses are much better received when put into context of questions asked instead of twitter one liners

Fair enough.

But the bolded comment highlights the concern (for me at least)

The bid/ask spread on hockey trades is huge - it all comes down to which team has to trade (or desires the trade), and they are going to be the one over-paying usually.

When playing GM-poker, I think you need to play it tight - certainly tighter than I'll-play-every-hand Feaster currently seems to be.

You have to let the game come to you.

Yep a lot of the quotes people went overboard on in this thread are pretty bad summations of what Feaster said.

Stop listening then. The guy is talking because he was expected to have media availability today and did. Media ask him questions.

Honestly every time he opens his mouth it doesn't matter what he says some of you find fault with it.

Just stop listening.

Does Feaser talk too much? Maybe, but I like that he keeps a dialogue with the fans and press, especially this time of year when there's nothing to talk about anyways.

Is Roger Millions ever right .....?
He's the media person who asked Feaster about Cammalleri after prefacing his question by saying he'd heard there was a lot of interest in Cammalleri.
Million's credibility is near zero in my eyes ...... he's starting to remind me of Bruce Garrioch ...
