If you're only getting back mediocre prospects or late picks, then we might as well keep Cammalleri until the deadline when you can get a better return from desperate teams. Why trade him now, when a first rounder can be head in a few months? He is a proven playoff performer after all, so someone should want him bad enough.

Thats pretty much what i am thinking. Rather just hang onto Cammi until the deadline because i think he will be worth more than what Boyle could bring back.

Kristen Odland @KristenOdlandCH 1m Feaster also said expectation is to start the season w/Cammalleri and they want to find him a good centre to play with. #NHL
So going after Lecavalier, Ribero, or Weiss?

I think Cammalleri has requested a trade, so they are trying to accommodate him.

Yeah i get that, but there comes a time that you can't treat every player like gold and have to do whats best for your team.
Cammi will get lots of points on the flames with the amount of ice time he gets. I doubt he pouts because he needs a new contract next year. Just hold off and trade him at the deadline and get the better return.

I think i am more worried about trying to get the "center" to play with Cammi, than trading Cammi for a "mey' return.
Trading for a top 6 center is not cheap, asset wise. Getting one in UFA will be very expensive also and more than likely come with long term. Cammi will be long gone before that term is over.

The Flames have now until deadline day next year to accommodate Cammy's request, they better be thinking of trading him when the time is right for the Flames. They don't owe Cammy a new home before the season starts.

We will not get any of those pieces alone for Cammalleri. Our expectations of our management should be much lower.
Jiri's suggestion of somebody like Boyle is a great one. Big body, coming off a bad year. That's a Feaster player right there.

We've heard this song before with Iginla.
I don't see Cammalleri lasting another full season in Calgary, so the excuse of finding a center just for him is weak.

How much Salary are we allowed to eat. If Cammy is a 3 mil cap it he becomes a very nice looking target for the whole season.
Cammy at the deadline is worth a late 1st so we can always wait if the deal isn't great. No reason to rush. Although I think the best deal for Cammy would be now if we eat cap hit.

Could just be management posturing, millions says a deal is close, feaster says Cammy starts the year in Calgary.
feaster says a lotta things.
let's get back to a potential rangers deal, the rags don't pick in the first 2 rounds on sunday maybe there's an appetite for one of our firsts.
To NYR
Cammallerri half retained + 28th overall
To CGY
Brian Boyle + J.T. Miller
EDIT: I believe miller played with gaudreau in the world juniors last year.

Leddy is incredibly underrated with amazing upside. Not sure what we would have to give upto get him but wow, he'd be a great young addition.

Nah, just not a fan of them. I'd prefer younger prospects, I mentioned St Croix earlier, he's a piece I would like to acquire.
Cammalleri (Flames retain 50% salary) for St Croix?
