As for the dealer, it was through my place of work, so of course they were excellent in my dealings with them.

Interesting - their double DIN one doesn't have a CD or DVD slot. Kind of dated to want one of those I guess but I'm not a type that mixes my phone and music device as one and the only place my mp3 player goes is to the gym or for a run. Not that I do much of either these days

Good call on skipping out on Nav. I feel like those things are the most ridiculously overpriced tech in cars today. They charge you thousands of dollars, yet its older tech than than a current standalone GPS... and it will be very dated in only a couple of years. All you really pay for is the form-factor of it being in the dash. Just get yourself a new Garmin and you're ahead of the game at a fraction of the cost.
Plus, you can just use your phone. For free!

Although, I`ve had vehicles with a nav system, and they`re useful. I just don`t think someone my age and income level should be worrying about luxury add-ons like that.

My plan is to ride this thing out for 2-3 years, then list it. By then, I want to get the car I really want - the Mitsubishi Ralliart. Test drove it in 2010, did it again this month... that vehicle is so fitting for me I`m sad I can`t have it now.

Yeah, Ive been using the voice-guided Maps directions on my iPhone around the city, and it's been pretty great. Kinds of makes my Garmin redundant in most instances (at least locally... still need it outside of the country).

The single DIN doesn't have a CD player either. I use an SD card and a USB flash drive for most music, about 200 GB. My entire catalog is searchable via voice command. I stream podcasts via BT from my phone, and I listen to AM/FM from time to time.

The hands-free, and voice activated phone book, is the best I have ever used.

Those guys aren't Visions or Soundsaround. They are total pros, and they aren't bargain basement as a result. Put it this way, if we are willing to let him work on VW's insanely finicky electrical systems on brand new cars, they have to be good. Most of the stuff they do they try and use plug and play interfaces, and bridge connections. Meaning the factory wiring isn't cut, soldered or spliced into whenever possible.

Just visit the shop, it is one of the cleanest facilities i have ever seen. And if you are lucky, they will have some sort of uber expensive super car getting something done. They work on some pretty insane stuff there.

These guys are insanely good, and every dealer in the city uses them now. Their installs are OEM quality. Don't let the crappy website fool you. Visit the shop and you will see what I mean. They have stuff that looks like it came from the factory.
If you care about work quality I would go here. These guys are amazing. I was very concerned about quality and having a factory look when I bought my 370Z a few years ago. I took it to MobileSolutions Calgary and my fears were put to rest when I saw Ferraris, Maseratis and Porsches there. Even though my car didn't cost as much as those they treated it and me with courtesy and respect. They are a bit expensive but you're getting top notch quality with these guys.
