Haha I guess no one on these boards is a death metal junkie... Any comments on arch enemy? DOWNLOAD some of there songs, if you havent heard any melodic death metal! THIS IS THE BAND..

They have a FEMALE singer, and she sounds like SATAN, as I imagine satan to sound like hahahah.

Check them out!

There lead singer Angela Gossow is pretty hot also, go to www.archenemy.net to find out more YO!

I have a few friend big into metal (one actually publishes a magazine about it).

I was chatting with another friend and and asked him about Norwegian Death Metal, and he asked me "from the north, or the south". Apparently ther are sub-genres of death metal.

they only had her for the last three studio albums and some live stuff. don't go downloading something from black earth or something and go on thinking that's a chick singing. don't go think this is super heavy or really underground or anything bud. arch enemy is fairly mainstream and popular.

norway's more known for their black metal than their death metal.

I love death metal, i just hate the singing. Love the riffs, just cant stand the singing.

Then again, i love anything as long as its not rap or hip hop.... or anything played on vibe.

check out a band called 'into eternity' then. their newest album, 'burried in oblivion' is their best IMO. quite a different sound from just straightforward death metal. definate power metal influence. if you don't like death metal vocals you might dig them and be able to kind of ease into it.

plus they're canadian too!

Yes, its actually around 4 albums Angela Gossow has sung on, if I count right! They had a male singer before, Johan Liiva, but he sucked live as you could probably tell on burning japan. I understand arch enemy isnt anything underground like nile say, but I still think they are a relativly unheard of band, which is OK with me, heck sometimes you dont want everyone to know about the sweetness. Anyways check them out, YO!

3. doomsday machine, anthems of rebellion, wages of sin. ep's & bootlegs don't count.

anyways.... if you decide to hang out on that alberta metal board that i posted the link to, i'll give you a warning - if you go in pimping bands like arch enemy or nile you will have posters like HookinMouth trying to tear you a new one. he's a tool. just ignore him and don't bother replying or tell him off in person - he's the bass player for eternal pergutory and plays bass live for dark forest. his name's crusty, he'll try to act tough and try to be cool on the internet but won't back anything up if you confront him in real life.

I saw Arch Enemy at the Headbangers Ball Tour 2 years ago in Deadmonton. They were awesome, and your right she is damn hot!! Cradle of Filth was there too but I thought they were garbage live.

Still by far, the two best shows I've seen yet were Slipknot and Mudvayne. Those guys know how to entertain a crowd.
