I can see a team like the Oilers giving him a chance. Question is, is he willing to sign up in the North Pole?

Bryz's agent (Rich Winter) is ripping apart the Flyers organization on Edmonton radio:

Dan Tencer ‏@dantencer 3m Winter uses the word "deception" to describe Holmgren telling him initially that Bryzgalov would not be bought out.

Dan Tencer ‏@dantencer 34s
Wow. Winter ANNIHILATES system in Philly. Says it's brutal for goalies. No clear lanes, can't see the puck, goalie coach no authority etc.

OilersNow ‏@OilersNow 47s
Winter: "There's more wrong with Philadelphia's goaltending than just the goaltending."

Dan Tencer ‏@dantencer 7s Ritch Winter says Bryzgalov would "actively consider Edmonton". Sounds like they are absolutely targeting the Oilers as a landing spot.

Dan Tencer ‏@dantencer 16s Winter said Bryzgalov would hate the weather in Edmonton but would love the energy in a hockey city and thinks the team can win. He'd come.

Winter may have a point about the system in Philly. With the number of goalies that have been through that town in the last 20 years, you'd think there would be at least one good one, just by accident.

Can't disagree with anything that Winter is saying. Bryz played pretty well this season, and by no means was the reason why Philly sucked. His contract was still brutal.

If he thinks the defence and seeing pucks will be easier in Edmonton, he could be in for a rude awakening.

Also, I thought dubnyk was pretty good for them last year. Is bryzgalov an upgrade over their current number one? I don't think so.

Here's hoping MacT and Winter can make this happen.

Winter sure likes to shoot from the hip. I remember when he roasted the Flames pretty badly a couple years ago....I think it was right around the time the Flames extended Tanguay.

Can't say he was wrong at that time either, with most of what he said.

Winter ripped the Oilers pretty bad in 2003 over the whole Mike Comrie situation. He's just pumping the tires trying to get his client the best deal possible. I don't see Bryzgalov signing in Edmonton.

If the Oilers get Bryz I could see his career rejunivating and the Oilers getting a very key cog in net and becoming very relevant.

Bobrovsky: Philly: SV PCT: 0.898
Columbus: SV PCT: 0.932

Bryzgalov: Phoenix: GAA: .917
Philly: GAA: .905

Seems to be something wrong with Philly, seems that every goalie under performs there.

As funny as it would be to see Bryzgalov in Edmonton, that could actually be a good move for them in regards of getting better results now. His personality may not be worth the risk though since leadership in that room isn't strong enough to handle him if things aren't rosy.

I guess he forgot about the Lindros deal...

If by 'good' you mean using up a roster spot and limited cap space to make them marginally better, I agree and fully support it!
