No kidding. I swear someone here was saying boston was going to sweep chicago one period into game one.

Looks like the bruins sure could have used a one-timer at the top of the circle on the PP tonight. 0/4

Jagr: 0g 10a in 22games. Now that's a slump.

Hahaha. Jagr was pretty fantastic for Boston. I'm sure they weren't that bummed out now in retrospect that they didn't get Iginla.

Look people, you should all take a printscreen and frame it. Moon was right for once, but that's just because he hates Bostonīs guts and that has nothing to do with how they play the hockey. They are so horrible.

Although I just couldn't get into this final series, there's no doubt it was a true classic. I'm glad Chicago won in the end. Just a damn good team.

They won the last game the way they often won last season. Actually for several seasons (and maybe especially against the Flames), they've seemed to find a way to stage a late come back and win games.

In my eyes Chicago was the underdogs at the start considering how the Bruins completely laid the boots to Pittsburgh, I just didn't think Chicago could handle them. I was definitely wrong, Shaw and Bickell brought a level of physicality that Pittsburgh just couldn't do

Anyways, both teams are neutral to me again, GO FLAMES GO

I have to be honest. I haven't quite gotten off the Bruins bandwagon since 2011. I recognize it's completely fallacious to still be cheering for a team that beat up my most hated team two years ago, but I'm starting to fall off Boston's wagon now.

NBC crossed the eight million viewer threshold for the clinching game of the 2013 Stanley Cup Final.

Game 6 of the Blackhawks/Bruins NHL Stanley Cup Final drew a 4.7 final rating and just under 8.2 million viewers on NBC Monday night, up 52% in ratings and 66% in viewership from Devils/Kings Game 6 last year (3.1, 4.9M), and up 47% and 49%, respectively, from Canucks/Bruins Game 6 in 2011 (3.2, 5.5M).

Viewership peaked at 10.4 million from 10:45-11:00 PM ET.

Monday’s game ranks as the ninth-most viewed NHL telecast on any network dating back to 1966, and the fourth-most viewed Game 6. The only Game 6 telecasts to earn better numbers were Blackhawks/Flyers in 2010 (8.3M), Canadiens/Blackhawks in 1973 (9.4M), and Bruins/Rangers in 1972 (10.9M).

Game 6 also ranks as the third-most viewed NHL telecast since the league returned to broadcast television in 1995. Only Blackhawks/Flyers Game 6 in 2010 and Bruins/Canucks Game 7 in 2011 (8.5M) drew more viewers since the league’s 1995 return. Overall, the four most-viewed games since 1995 have all aired on NBC.

Among adults 18-49, Monday’s game drew a 3.1 rating — up 55% from Game 6 last year and in 2011 (2.0 both years). The 3.1 is the best for any NHL game in the demo since Bruins/Canucks Game 7 in 2011 (3.4).

Heard rumor elsewhere that he was playing with a puctured lung. If that's true and he knew then he's a frakking idiot and everyone/anyone behind the bench who knew and let him play should be fired.

The Score is reporting a hole in the lung.

Boston Bruins General Manager revealed on Wednesday that center Patrice Bergeron has been at a local hospital under observation since the end of the Stanley Cup Final.

Bergeron, who was suffering from a broken rib, torn cartilage and a small hole in his lung, also separated his shoulder in Game 6 of the Cup Final, when the Bruins were eliminated by the Blackhawks.

Bergeron went to the hospital after leaving Game 5 early, but returned for the Bruins in Game 6. The 27-year-old, who also missed regular season time in April with a concussion, recorded 15 points in 22 playoff games this Spring.

At this point, Bergeron has two options:

He can go to L.A. and play for Darryl Sutter, who will respect him as he deserves for being a Tough Hombre and a Real Hockey Player,

OR, he can have surgery and get his lung fixed.

I think that would depend on whether or not the team was willing to physically stop Bergeron from getting dressed and stepping onto the ice.

I also think that if this was the case, there would be a lot of staff turnover on teams going deep into the playoffs. Lucic revealed when asked about Horton this year that he played the 2011 finals with a broken foot. Not the same as a punctured lung obviously, but to a lot of these guys winning is above all else including their health.

Im pretty sure doctor's orders are completely ignored during the playoffs and players are given discretion themselves on whether or not they are OK to play.

If I'm Julien and I ask my top centerman if he is ok to play and he says "Yes" that is all I need to hear. Is it stupid? Yes very. Is it worth it? Only Bergeron knows that. I'm sure he will tell you when he's old and grey that he has no regrets playing severly hurt in the Stanley Cup Finals.
