Alright folks, I know full well this could be considered slacktivism to some, but I've relaunched a special flood edition of the Calgary Design Challenge: iheartyyc.com.

No we're not selling limited edition t-shirts/prints, we're just throwing down some more love for our city and hoping to get some funds to the Red Cross.

I like the idea of the Nenshi shirt but bought the Hell/high water one for that reason.

You probably could turn one or two into t-shirts. Get united pixelworkers to help or something? Cam could probably help with that.

Thought I'd throw this in here as it's not getting much love in the automotive thread

So - for my new vehicle I was thinking I'd:

1. Like to tow a trailer, I know max towing is 8900 lbs (nothing like that just yet though) 5.4L V8
2. Bike rack
3. Was thinking I could help flood people out by towing crap away in an open style trailer. You know, those things that look like flat beds with a cage around them that landscapers haul their mowers around in and stuff.

Anyway, no idea what I need, but figure it's best to get something that will haul both 1 and 3, I'm assuming 2 will be a seperate item.

Two little girls in my neighborhood, here in Strathmore, fundraising for flood relief.

The Stamps sent out an email to season ticket holders at 4:53pm today asking for volunteers to help fundraise for the Red Cross.

A second email came at 6:33pm saying "Volunteer capacity reached - Thank you"

On the way home the radio said the the Hell of High Water shirts have been on sale for 24 hours and have already sold 10,000 shirts.

Best city in the world!

With limited CTrain service on Route 201 (Red line), thousands of customers in south Calgary are currently using shuttle bus services to access stations north of Heritage, including the downtown core. To help move more people into the downtown as more Calgarians start returning to work, temporary bus-only lanes will be installed on northbound Macleod Trail from 61 Avenue at to City Hall, and on southbound Macleod Trail from 12 Avenue S to 61 Avenue S. The temporary bus-only lanes are expected to be installed Wed. June 26, and will be identified with signs.

City of Calgary sent out a tweet 15 mins ago saying sanitary services in Roxboro and Bowness are now up and running.

Spent some time today with the Mayor going and chatting with folks down in Rideau/Roxboro. It's just incredibly inspiring to see friends, family, neighbours and complete strangers pull together like they have.

Also spent time talking to the various City departments/crews doing so much amazing work in impossible timeframes.

If you can, honestly, stick on your boots, grab some gloves and head down to a community (park away and walk in) and help out. I have (insane amounts of) Mayor's Office duties during the week this week, but will simply have to be there on the weekend.

As devastating as this is and how painful it will continue to be for many - honestly, our community will be 1000% stronger as a result. The spirit you see exhibited...
