Sources confirm the St. Louis Blues have agreed in principle on a one-year contract with center Patrik Berglund.
Berglund who tied for the team lead with 17 goals this season, has two 20 goal seasons and a 19 goal season in his five-year NHL career.
Word is both sides discussed a long-term contract but Berglund appears comfortable with signing the one-year deal.
Berglund’s salary will likely fall somewhere between the $3 million David Perron made last season and the $3.375 Oshie earned. Both Perron and Oshie were in the first year of long-term contracts this past year.

Anywhere around 3.5 mill is a good deal for Berglund, he is proven he can score at this level obviously and is a great center to have.

He probably feels he can get more and wants to prove it this year.. interesting to see if this backfires on him or not.

I was getting excited for him at the draft and I remember my heart wrenching when the Blues took him right before the Flames.. maybe they weren't even looking at him though as they went after a goalie.. dare to dream.

the only thing missing from his game is consistency; plays a very solid two-way game, and has become a better goal scorer
