Here's a big map showing the flooded area: http://www.tennessean.com/assets/gif/DN15736059.GIF

The arena was actually about a block away from direct flooding. The stadium was harder hit. The field and everything at field level were under about six feet of water.

Even still, the Titans played their full home schedule, with their first preseason game three months after the flood.
I think King needs to call the Titans for advice rather than the Preds

Not sure why, but this cracked me up.

A leaf fan told me today that its going to be hard to get all that water out if there with just one cup.

I responded with, "Ahhh...leafs suck! And...ahhh...haven't one a cup in a long time since there was only 6 teams.." Yeah, I had nothing.

I'm pretty sure "Umm, aren't you a Leafs fan?" ends any type of real argument with one of those individuals.

Ken King was on the FAN this morning; apparently most of the water is out of the Dome. Did I hear correct?

the biggest water pumps in North America were on standby and it sounds like they started early this morning. All that combined with the water levels receding and yeah I could see that.

you only need 4 numbers to end an argument with a Leafs fan.

A person born the last time they won a cup would now be 45 and well into mid life crisis territory. That's pretty pathetic lol.

Yes, he said there was only a couple of inches left as of 7:30 this morning.

I think the sight of that would be a welcome comedic relief to workers.

The sad part of it, I believe that was still the original suit from 1983 and being that Harvey was the first NHL mascot, that's another loss of a piece of history. Hopefully they can clean it up enough that it goes on display at the HHOF.

The best response to that is

"Thank god we're not in Vancouver!"

24 fan bases have seen their teams play in the Stanley Cup Finals (including the Minnesota North Stars), and 17 have seen their teams win the Stanley Cup since the Leafs were last in the Finals.

Anyone old enough to remember the Leaf's last cup is at or above the half century mark.

Hopefully we can someday live in a country where it's passed from living memory.

Not surprising that the water is almost out, yesterday when I went to the dome, you can see and hear the water being pumped out through a #### load of hoses and all the personal working on the grounds/dome, water receded back ALOT

Well if Nashville can clean up their flood in2 and a half months, I think Calgary will be just fine! My dad told me that it's "possible" that the Flames will change their name to The Calgary Floods. Since Atlanta was named after the huge fire.

Th owners are billionaires and they have league support and great interest ($$$) to get it done. If they wanted, they have the ability to fly entire crews of experienced Sparky's, engineers, refrig mechanics, etc. in to work on this project. I'm not saying they will, I'm just saying that the owners of the Flames do posses the magic wand that you speak of.

This isn't about me getting my house fixed...that's a different argument. And I understand what you are saying, I spend half the year being short of electricians but this is a different thing altogether.

That said....it is a huge challenge....there just aren't going to be any sealed bids.
