Separate the steam (water) from the uric acid and minerals from your kidneys that could be potentially damaging if ingested back into your body.

Unnecessary. If you're going to drink your own piss, you just need to store it in a snakeskin for it to be ok to drink.

He's talking about distilling. The solutes in urine would not evaporate, so you collect the evaluated water (steam) and voila. Water

That's right by the south entrance to the stampede grounds.

Just got back from Discovery. Happy to say our house (down in the valley part, quite close to the forest) was dry. Checked several neighbours and they were good too.
However the houses backing on the forest got it bad. Many flooded. Big condos parkade flooded obviously, but the first floor apartment we went to, was all dry.
Must admit I was so relieved and happy. We have no power but hey house is dry. Good feelings quickly tempered when we got to the first of our friends houses not on our street. Backyard a river, basement a good meter at least of water. What a mess.

That would be just south of the Grandstand and yards, likely just west of Spiller road.

It was closed this afternoon and I'd imagine it still is. Crowchild was open at 5 I think though. They seem to be not updating the road closures on the city site too well since this morning.

I should have mentioned, last I knew of 14th being closed was 5pm. DownInFlames' is probably more up to date.

The job of the military isn't to police Canadian streets. I honestly could see search and rescue but that doesn't appear to be a need at the current time. It will essentially be wait for water levels to drop and clean up while the specialized trades start getting life back together (Enmax, road crews and the like). If it was a matter of filling sandbags, digging berms and other preventative measures, I could see it, but as of now I don't see the need. Perhaps engineers to build temp roads.

I live right by 14th St. I was on the bridge when they started reopening it around 6pm.

I want to thank everyone for their amazing posts and information, I've found more out from this website than basically anywhere else combined. Love you guys.
I was actually curious, what do people speculate the odds are of the Trans-Canada Highway actually having some form of passing or functionality for regular drivers? I was supposed to leave town next Thursday to head to Vancouver and if I can't drive out there, I'll lose thousands of dollars of potential income (and I am not someone with much money). Cheers.
