I can't imagine, as a structure, that there would be significant enough damage to delay any games, preseason or otherwise.
It's a big building full of stinky water, but the interiors aren't exactly Frescos. Mop it up, scrub it down, fix what's broken, paint, done.

I would assume. They might hold it somewhere else instead though.

Right now, the best word to describe the Saddledome is a word that rhymes with 'pucked'

How long did the flooding at the Superdome take to fix? They had roof damage too,but a comparison might be interesting

That's the lot at the back where the team trucks and TV crews unload, it is down a driveway and would collect a ton of water

Better comparison is likely the Bridgestone Centre in Nashville.
The Grand Ole Opry flooded May 4th, and re-opened late September. A quick search didn't yield Bridgestone Center results, but that coud give us a starting point... http://www.wkrn.com/story/13233167/g...ens-post-flood

I think Bridgestone Arena's flood was less severe than this one though. It was a storm drain backup and resulted in only a few inches of standing water. I doubt there'd be the electrical and equipment issues that might occur when an arena has several meters of water in it.

The thing I might be most concerned with, is the weight of all that water causing the concrete floor to sink or break.

After helping to clean up other areas, i would volunteer my time to clean up the dome. I spent a lot of time there and would love to help clean it up as needed.
Maybe a CP cleans the dome thing is needed

It sounds like there was one employee in there, and it was probably completely dark. A cell phone camera wouldn't show anything.

Skimmed the thread and didn't see this answered. I've been in the Saddledome twice in the last month. End of May for the STH meeting, and then again on Tuesday. At the end of May the Energyboard was a good 20 feet off the ice surface. It was a nice height to show Flames videos.
Then on Tuesday for the relocation I did notice it was lower. Didn't pay real close attention as it wasn't turned on; but I would guess it was maybe 10 feet off the ice. I really hope my recollection was wrong, or that they had time to raise it again. I know all day Friday we were talking at work about planning for the Bow to go over it's banks, so I would hope there was a similar discussion at the Dome.

Too bad this didn't hit Rexall instead of the Saddledome. They could have just flushed the water out of the arena.

I'm in Calgary and I have taken in a few friends, one of which lost her home and the other who was just evacuated. Now before I say what is next, I do understand this is a flames forum and that people on here are prioritizing the saddledomes reclamation quite high. If the stampede grounds are to be prepared for the stampede or even the first flames game, I will be shocked. The core of our downtown is flooded with billions of dollars worth of buildings being affected, including high rise apartments that some people call home. We are temporarily without public transit. To get from the northern part of the city to the south and vice versa has been condensed to a select few routes. I hope for a speedy recovery as much as the next flames fan but not at the cost of the people in my city.
Calgary pride, Canada wide.

I think there have been no photos inside the Dome yet because they don't really want the people of Calgary to see yet how bad the disaster really is inside the Dome.
Its so sad what has happened there.
