Yeah Lifemark is pretty close to the bank of the Elbow. Talisman might have some damage on the lower level closer to the Elbow. Could ruin a lot of equipment and the gym floor.

I just had to go out for some medical supplies for a family member. I saw someone coming out of a carwash.

With a lot of luck and a great deal of patience. They should probably just head north now if they think your flight is going to land, while Deerfoot is still open. But as it is already closed southbound, and with Glenmore, Memorial and Blackfoot are all impassable, your options are limited. They could go down 52nd street to 22X, but it has been very slow all day, and will only get worse with Deerfoot shut down. Stoney to 84th street and south is also an option, but will also be backed up. 100th Street is also a possibility. Not sure how the south end of Barlow will be.

Haha I went to get gas and chuckled to myself when the gas machine asked me if I would like a carwash.

We've (Lethbridge County) been told to conserve water to lessen the likelyhood of sewer backups. I don't explicitly remember seeing such an advisory for Calgary.

or is that totally stupid?

Capacity to move water is the first problem. The second is cost vs. benefit.

@CBCCalgary: RCMP now say there could be 4 casualties as a result of flooding in High River area. All based on witness reports. No bodies recovered
Hoping that's not true.

Speaking of High River residents. I would like you to check in with us if you can Dion, and let us know you are ok.

The Jumbo tron is not in jeopardy of being destroyed, in terms of the Jumbo tron itself. It's not hovering 20 feet below the surface. It's the room where the electronic equipment used to control the Jumbo tron that's been likely destroyed.

I wouldn't go there yet. If he was on Telus, they lost all service in High River.

3rd floor thankfully, though with that much water, I'm wondering if it'll damage more than just the basement and 1st floor, like condemn the whole building or something??
I wonder if any insurance will cover my tenant if the building has to be empty for an extended period.

The ones on the block south of those had one of the buildings go up in flames while it was being built, and they were putting out small files on top of all the surrounding buildings and stuff all day. I was sitting right about where that video was taken the whole afternoon watching them fight the fires, they had a helicopter with a bucket getting water out of the river and everything.
I'll find the pictures I scrounged up then and upload them.
