They stopped building it, likely because they realized it wasn't going to be finished in time to do anything.

You are also talking a much larger scale of funding, people, etc.

It is supposed to start 2 weeks today. And it hasnt stopped YET.

I hope your right, like Nenshi said, we are resilient, so lets hope so.

The city has asked that we not use any non-essential water right now. No dishwasher, washing machine and I think the old "if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down" applies right now too.

Think there will be a Stampede but on a much smaller scale.

Maybe even no midway, just the rodeo and chuckwagons.

No chance the Saddledome is ready for concerts, maybe they move them to McMahon

The infrastructure in NY is infinitely more complicated than here though. Tunnels, 100 year old Subway lines, stuff packed onto of other stuff et.

This whole thing is crazy and oddly fascinating. Hopefully the number of people lost, hurt or killed is very low.

I'm impressed at how the city is handling things too; if I hear anyone ever speak ill of a police officer, fireman or EMT I'm going to hit them with a photo album containing photos of the flood!

that doesn't seem like gouging imo

that seems like buying all individual bottles and not getting the case price.

edit: I didn't see that was a case ... dick move

According to her twitter post, the water was cheaper 2 days ago. I know not stated in the post here, but knowing that, it certainly is gouging.
