Shaw TV isn't covering it which is sad.

Yikes. The cultural centre restaurant in the basement must be toast now.

I like how 3-5 blocks from the river and about 7 blocks from the evacuation zone, my local McD's has closed due to the floods but the local donair shop, two Korean places, and Subway all appeared to be open well past midnight.

When is Folk Fest? (Personally, I don't pay any attention to it, but I know a lot of people do). Will this affect it much? I have no idea when it is.

Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE! |

This #### is crazy, it reminds me of the first Desert Storm invasion in 1990 and I would watch CNN nonstop to see what Wolf Blitzer would say next. Craving the next image or bit of information. I need to go to sleep. I'll just refresh the thread one more time.....

It depends on what sort of evacuation order you get. A voluntary one means you don't "have" to leave, but it's strongly suggested. A mandatory one means you do (under penalty of law/removal by police) leave.

Something to keep in mind is that any place the CPS have been with a volutary evacuation earlier has turned into a mandatory. If the city is concerned enough about your area to ask you to leave...it's probably a smart idea to heed them.

Any word on Deerfoot Trail closures? That will pretty much seize the city of for sure. I went down by Heritage and Glendeer Circle and it was amazing to see the rush of water and size of trees floating by every two minutes or so.
Hope everyone is doing okay and are safe.
