I did, and he doesn't know. The call has to come from one of the high ups. And it's not like it's critical for us to be downtown, it's oil & gas and every employee has the ability to login remotely from home
Guess I'll just try a best effort tomorrow, and turn around if Memorial is a parking lot at 7am

To help with the hate, just think of how much overtime those cops are getting paid, and realize that we're paying for it.
Even so, 20 evacuated communities requires more manpower than the CPS can manage alone given other necessary duties.

Downtown will be an absolute mess in the morning. We will be waking up to some very dramatic scenes. My guess is that the majority of workers will not be going in tomorrow.
This is significant

Naw, I don't care about the money, they're earning it and I'll gladly chip in my portion.
Still ... #### Edmonton.

My work is in the East Village. I just got a message from my office saying it's closed tomorrow. Mind you I'm in Rio at the moment, where it's been warm and sunny!
Anyone have any idea what the expected rainfall is this weekend? I get back on Monday and am wondering what the chances are that my office is still closed then.

Well, the wife was just advised no one is to come in, their building will be in lock down and powered off completely, that, and the City tweets about staying out of downtown, so if I were a betting man, I'd say its not likely.

Grown ups don't need to ask other grown ups for permission to work from home when their city is in a state of emergency. CPS recommended you avoid downtown so sack up and email your bosses to let them know you won't be in per the City's recommendation instead of waiting around for them to tell you it's okay not to swim to work. Geez.

Devon Tower will be in lock down and completely powered off, according to the wife.

I assume that the connecting buildings around Devon Tower will be the same? Centennial Place, Ernst & Young, Shell. Anyone here work in those buildings?

If you want to volunteer, dial 266-1234, hit 0, and give your contact info and skills to the operator. They'll give your info to the city volunteer co-ordinator who will call you if you are needed.
