Default Scotiabank Place no more

It will now be:

bada boom bada bing

The “Canadian Tire Centre”

http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/eh-...8.html#more-id

The Ottawa Senators' announcement Tuesday that they're changing the name of their arena from Scotiabank Place to the Canadian Tire Centre is just the latest name change for a facility that has had plenty of corporate ones over the years. It started as just The Palladium in 1996, then became the Corel Centre later that year and stuck with that name until it became Scotiabank Place in 2006.

some great comments in the article

Bruce Arthur @bruce_arthur Future arenas: WPG: IKEA Arena. CGY: Home Hardware Centre. EDM: The Mark's Work Warehouse. MTL: Place Caisse Populaire. VAN: The lululemon.
11:29 AM - 18 Jun 2013

Bruce Arthur @bruce_arthur In honour of the CFL team, I just wish it had been named THE CANADIAN TIRE CENTRE

Paul Chapman @PaulC14 @bruce_arthur I'm looking forward to the ceremony raising a giant pine car freshener.

It will only be cool if they accept Canadian tire dollars at the concessions.

All I can think of is the J-Roc line from TPB:

The Sens will have to follow closely the value of the Canadian Tire dollar:

When you had badda boom badda bing at the start of your post I thought it was going to be the "East Side Mario's Centre".

Came to see comment about Canadian Tire money. Left satisfied.

I bet they'll have Motomaster branded on the zamboni and a MSTRKRFT track will be used as the goal song.

Is it any worse than the National Car Rental Center or the St Pete Times Forum (that isn't even in St Pete) or the Gaylord Entertainment Center?

Hell none of the NHL rinks in Canada have sponsors that aren't embarrassing to be associated with - Rogers, Scotiabank, Rexall, Air Canada, Bell... they all sort of suck.

Or the jobing.com arena. That and the Gaylord Centre were probably the worst arena names I've ever heard. The Canadian Tire Centre isn't even close to being that bad IMO.

Jobing.com Arena is the worst name for sure.

Pretty sure Nashville's used to be Gaylord something or other.

I wonder if they are going to offer crappy customer service as further promotion of the Canadian Tire brand.

Via the twitter: "To keep with Canadian Tire staffing policy, there will now be one usher for every 10,000 fans"
