The Flames don't need the log jam cleared right now, you just made a great reason to not get him. The last thing this team needs is a bonafide number one guy going out and stealing games making this team look better then they actually are. Kipper's heroics over the years propped the Flames up, two points here, two points there, we don't need a goalie stealing the show.

Get a bunch of goalies, trade for some, draft a bunch and in 3-4 years let the cream of the crop rise to the top of the goalie blender when this team should actually be assembled.

You may as well start cheering for losses and hope for an Oiler like tank with that attitude. I want change to happen and I also want the Flames to put up some wins during the rebuild. If Bernier can drag us into the playoffs one or two seasons earlier than expected while we continue to retool this team I say go for it.

He won't drag us to the playoffs, he'll drag us from 15th to 11th. Not worth it.

Is Bernier REALLY worth the 11th overall pick? Is he truly that good?

If one player can improve our standings by 4 positions in your eyes then how can you pass on him?

We can't keep thinking management will be incompetent like under Darryl and co. and be blinded by a great goaltender masking problems. You don't get to choose when to take your shot in the NHL, it's too competitive. You build and improve year in and year out.

I'm not saying the Flames should go after Bernier versus standing pat and seeing which two of Ramo, Berra and MacDonald rise to the occasion next season but...

If one player can improve your team 4 positions in the standings isn't that exactly the type of player you want to help "rebuild" your organization??

Well, I'm also not sold on Bernier which is the actual reason I wouldn't go after him.
