Joey Bada$$ is playing a couple shows in Calgary this Friday. One all ages and then another 18+ show right after at Dickens. Tickets are probably sold out now because there were only about 25 left when my friend bought ours earlier today.
Listening to a lot of Eminem's older music i can honestly say that 1999-2002 Slim Shady could be considered the greatest rapper of all time. The lyricism, flow, passion, everything. Then came Encore and well....Yeah...The guy isn't trash but he just never got back to the level of skill he had from Infinite up to The Eminem Show. He's still a legend. The flow on this song is incredible:
Anybody check out SAAAB Stories by Action Bronson and Harry Fraud? I listened to a stream of it the other day and it's pretty decent. Harry's got some crazy beats and that "Strictly 4 My Jeeps" track is insane.
Calgary rapper Deezuz got a new album out too. Pretty good beats and some good collabos...Roc Marciano, Meyhem Lauren, and Riff Raff. He got the free download at www.deezuz.com.
It's really not terrible. A lot of great production on it, and it doesn't heavily rely on features like MBDTF did. I would even go as far as to say it's great
Haven't heard it yet, but I hear the new Kanye cd is terrible.
I posted my opinion in the other thread, and that hasn't changed after listening to it a few times. There are 2 or 3 good songs with some flow on the album, but for the most part it was one giant production experiment, and on that it excels. Every song has so many production layers to it, that it's actually pretty interesting to hear how he mixed it all in. Where it falls is flow - too distracting where there really is no flow. Either odd yelps, screams, changes of beat, etc. It really gets an A+ on production quality and experimentation, but I think at the end of the day you want some type of melody and it falls fairly flat in that regard. Black Skinhead and Blood On The Leaves are probably the two better songs, but even then, there are interruptions on those. Kanye's done some great things with production, so I really hope this was a blip and he goes back to making songs like Diamonds, Stronger, Good Morning, or Power.

J cole born sinner. Sick album he brought the heat to tie us over this summer. Redeemed himself after that garbage first album.
Still think his first album is better than Born Sinner. Not saying much since I think they are both outstanding albums.
I'm terrified to listen to Kanye's new album but it seems after everyone of his experimental albums, the hip hop industry seems to follow. At most I expect a good switch from the large collection of garbage that has been released.
Also, as big of a Jay-Z fan that I am, I am somewhat hesitant about just how good this new album can be. Although I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
I highly recommend checking out eLZhi. This guy is one of the most skilled MC's out today. I've yet to hear a weak verse from him. Here's a few of his tracks:
Spoiler!
