In all fairness, has the city of Liverpool ever left the 80's/early 90's?

That depends, do they still think Michael Owen is "going to put them over the top"?

I agree with what I saw someone say on twitter that the second one isn't bad if they got rid of the space invaders stuff on the bottom of the kit.

Hey the Lewa blow is not my fault. I can't help that he was talked about so much this season, maybe if he'd pick a damn team already...
3 separate ATM's charged my account for failed transactions where they didn't actually dispense any money. This has consequently led me to hate Spain and all things related to it even more than I did before so, to tie this back into this thread, I hate all Spanish players. All of them. They all suck. I hate Iniesta the most.

I've gone to an ATM before where it didn't have enough money to handle my withdrawal. My record showed the withdrawal and the correction. That's BS that it just takes it and gives you no money.

As I'm absolutely buried with stuff at work, I've managed to find the time to ponder the needs of the Arsenal and what I'm thinking their transfer dealings might need to resemble. Here you are:
Needs
Additional Striking Options - We only have one recognized striker and while he did have a relatively successful first season in England, he isn't proving himself to be clinical.
Creativity in the Midfield - When Cazorla is in the middle of the park, we miss the creativity that Nasri provided on the flanks. When Cazorla is move to the wing, we miss the creativity that Fabregas provided in the centre of the park. We either need a creative winger or a creative midfielder.
A Tackling/Grittier Holding Midfielder - It might not be as dire of a need as many think, but it definitely would not hurt to have a box-to-box midfielder that didn't mind getting stuck in.
A Mobile but Stay-At-Home Defender - Although the BFG does get caught for pace at times, his positioning is often excellent and the coverage he provides an attack-minded CB partner essential. Why not find someone who does the latter but isn't hindered by the former?
Out
Diaby - While it would be tough to let him go while he's on the treatment table again, he should be placed in the treatment room closest to the exit.
Fabianski - Isn't going to provide enough of a challenge for SZCZ or enough security when SZCZ cannot play.
Mannone - Isn't going to provide enough of a challenge for SZCZ or enough security when SZCZ cannot play.
Gervinho - Simply isn't good enough.
Santos - Simply isn't good enough.
Arshavin - Already gone, not sad.
Denilson - Already gone, not sad.
Squillaci - Already gone, praise Jesus!
In:
César - Competition and a mentor for SZCZ
El Shaarawy - He can add some width to our attack on the left but could also provide something a bit different up front. By playing on the left, he would allow Cazorla to pull the string from the centre of the park.
Fellaini - Although he currently plays in a more advanced role, I think he might be able to be a solid box-to-box midfielder.
Higuain - Effective striker.
Unknown CB - Great positioning and vision but also pacey enough not to get caught out when holding the line. Still a little raw though.
What about your club?

I doubt El Shaarawy gets sold.
Arsenal should be looking at Isco, the kid has offers from Madrid and Man City, but neither team could offer him the playing time or the "Cesc" program like Arsenal could.
Edit: Didn't realize Pelligrini was his coach at Malaga.

El Shaaraway would cost a ridiculous (i.e Man City only) amount, Arsenal aren't paying that
he's worth more to Milan right now than any other club in the world
I think the other 3 (plus some random French CB) are all somewhat likely, except Cesar being competition for Szczeny

Paulinho looking close (with actual quotes not just speculation)
Quote:
Fabrizio Romano: "Paulinho was contacted by Inter and many clubs in Ukraine and Russia, but he clearly prefers Spurs and the EPL." #THFC
At FT finance event in Rio. Corinthians vice president had to leave for a 4pm flight to sort out transfer business #Paulinho #Inter #THFC
Seleção Brasileira @BrazilStats
BREAKING - Corinthians director Montero: "I can confirm #THFC are interested in signing #Paulinho, and keeping him will be very complicated..."#THFC will send us their official offer in the next days. We expect to reach an agreement for Paulinho.""
|
a 4-3-3 with a Dembele/Sandro/Paulinho midfield trio would be phenomenal
Very much prefer AVB (who spent a lot of time after he left Chelsea scouting Brazil) going after Brazillians rather than Harry going after PL players available on a free is nice
Also on Bernard, the Mineiro President
the english club were Spurs
Quote:
“We have received an offer of €18m from an ‘English club’ who wants to sign Bernard who is now with Brazil. The offer was deemed too low, therefore refused,” Kalil told Spanish news agency Terra.
“FC Porto have now entered negotiations. Their president a good friend.
“We told everyone if you pay €25m Bernard is yours. Porto sold Moutinho and James Rodriguez [to AS Monaco]. I believe they have money.”

Although they are not dependable, the common fee that I am seeing in articles is €35m. I guess we'll have to walk before we run and settle for one record smashing signing this summer. Alternatively, we could just threaten Milian with telling Bendtner that we are negotiating his transfer to the San Siro. After a week of being pestered by him and his dad we'd be able to get El Shaarawy for less than €20m!

Atletico Mineiro starlet Bernard has added fuel to speculations linking him with a summer switch to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 20-year-old has shown a great deal of potential over the last years or so and he has in turn been linked with a summer move to Europe.
Borussia Dortmund and FC Porto are believed to be keen on the talented footballer, but Bernard’s representative has revealed that Tottenham are the only side that have been in contact so far.
“Dortmund have not submitted a proposal and Tottenham are the only contenders,” agent Hissa Moyses explained to O Jogo.

My bad. I thought The Greatest Striker That Ever Lived was now going by The Drunkest Dane That Ever Drove.
