I have to begrudgingly say that it was an enjoyable game to watch.

Can't wait for Saturday. I love how evenly matched these two teams are. Makes for an excellent watch.

Really good news for the NHL.

Chicago’s 4-3 triple-overtime win over Boston attracted the most TV viewers for an opening game of the Stanley Cup finals in 16 years.

NBC’s broadcast averaged 6.358 million viewers, the most to watch a Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals since Detroit and Philadelphia drew 9,000 more on FOX in 1997.

I understand that people want to try and pump up their team but to say that was anything other than a 50/50 game and that Boston comes out looking better or look like they will take is ridiculous in my mind.
Would it hurt to provide your own take on the game/series instead of just dissecting mine? Lol.

Obviously my comment isn't entirely objective. Truth is I want to see Chicago get run over. It'll definitely be a lot more even than that. But I do honestly think that a split in Chicago goes a long way towards Boston taking the series, as playing as home ice has been Chicago's crutch with their suffocating play in front of an intimidating home crowd, and taking away the home advantage will undoubtedly sway things in the Bruins' favor, as does any road team going home with a split or better. And Chicago's execution hasn't been nearly as strong on the road.

Pierre McGuire is one creepy dude. His comment last night about Chara's stick being big and long is just wrong in so many ways.

Reminds me of this (starts at 1:40):

Reasons I can think of to pull for Chicago.

The story with Chicago following a record setting regular season, knocking off the last 2 Cup champs.
Leafs fans having nearly taken the champs out would be annoying.
The Iggy situation, for those pulling for Iggy to get some hardware, or those not behaving like gilted lovers
Hockey pools for certain invested people, haha

Boston's sweep of Pitt was effective and frustrating for Pitt, and they deserved to win, but Lady Luck smiled on them. They played great but are not invincible

How does rooting for Chicago help the Iggy situation?

Seeing the picture of Ron Wood reminds me of this quote I saw somewhere:

"There's a cure for everything...and it's in Keith Richards!"

Tim Wharnsby@WharnsbyCBC4m
Nathan Horton, who left 1st OT with suspected left shoulder injury, is practicing with #Bruins.

Bickell wrote a little blog on NHL.com about our hometown http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=673988

It brought a smile to my face

Game 2 fifteen minutes or so from puck drop. Horton takes the warm up. Not really much else for lineup changes.

Jagr's favorite player growing up was... Jaromir Jagr...

Btw I love that segment, probably my favorite playoff segment.
