Btw, what does 'valid' even me in this context? The fact that it exists makes it valid by definition.

For someone who doesn't care where the Coyotes play, you sure have argued their case for staying, even resorting to personal attacks when you don't have a real response. I think you protest too much especially since your side is looking less and less reasonable.
For someone who has this signature,

Should I remind you that you're the one who decided to come into this thread yapping about Phoenix for no apparent reason? I'm not sure where your bizarre fixation comes from.
I don't see how 'my side' can look less reasonable, seeing as I have no side. If the NHL moves the Coyotes to Seattle tomorrow I will not care. If they moved them to Brooklyn I'd be ecstatic, as that's really the only place that it would have the slightest bit of an impact on my life. The case I have argued is the NHL's business case for a team in Phoenix, which contrary to your oh so intelligently crafted arguments, goes beyond 'Bettman says so'. Whether that business case is intelligent remains to be seen, although it seems quite clear that the NHL will not continue to own a team in the market going forward. There are numerous reasons for why the NHL is in the position it is in today, ranging from the threat that the Balsille lawsuit posed to the entire operating model of professional sports in North America to the potential desire to preserve certain markets for expansion rather than relocation. You consistently pretend that this is a simple situation with simple answers and explanations, when nothing could be further from the truth.
My comments towards you are borne out of frustration at your continued desire to twist facts and statements, be intentionally obtuse, ignore counter points and generally act like a fool on the entire issue. I generally have no issues with you, but when it comes to discussing this topic I have run out of any desire for niceties.
As for the signature, that is a quote from another user, hence the "-Est1980", but nice try.

You posted the stats showing the growth of hockey players in Arizona. If you don't think discussing the situation in Phoenix as valid to Quebec City getting an NHL franchise, you don't understand the basics. We've been all over why the situation in Phoenix is where it is, no need to recap it with your own slant. The NHL has had options since this started 4 years ago. Anybody looking at it could see it was a losing situation where the team has lost money every year they've been in Phoenix and it hasn't improved.
As for the signature, it's not clear it's not your own feelings and why anyone would want to repeat and be associated with such a juvenile threat is beyond me.
Speaking of being intentionally obtuse, you're the fellow who insisted that I give you the same link repeated at least six times over a period of time, whenever I backed up my argument with the facts that didn't suit you. You have some kind of personality problem, I hope you get better.

I posted the stats for growth in every US state with an NHL team in response to the question of what has changed in the last 20 years, perhaps if you had read the posts rather than wandering around on your Phoenix crusade you would have been able to comprehend that. Those stats demonstrate that in each and every sunbelt state hockey participation has grown, some more than others, but all at a high rate. You need to grasp that the 'validity' of Phoenix as an NHL market has absolutely nothing to do with Quebec City. The failure of one does not result in success in another. You attempting to educate me on the basics when you can't comprehend simple examples of market growth is rich.
As for the signature, that is how a quote citation is presented. This is something that high school students understand, in fact if you take a look at a high school yearbook you may find some examples.
What facts are you talking about? Do you have a link?

So you think that his sig was established in 1980 and not made by a poster of the same name?

Someone else has the same sig I'm pretty sure.
I'm disappointed I can't find the context, it seems all of Est1980's posts have vanished.

Est1980 is or was a poster? Never heard of him, it just looks like more gibberish.
Here's the way I do a quote you know with quotation marks. Quoted person's name, ".........". or "........" quoted person's name.

Dude, what are you going on about? People sometimes use quotation marks in sigs, but often replace quotation marks with a "-posterx" after the quote. And more to the point, even if you didn't think that was a quote then what in the blue hell did you think "established 1980" was reffering to?
I'm starting to see why you get beat up so bad in these threads. It's not so much what you believe (which is also pretty questionable sometimes) but how you defend it. When you are proven wrong you appear to have zero ability to go "hmm, I guess I was wrong about that, oh well", and instead will debate and argue until you're blue in the face, despite being clearly wrong.

There is no Est1980 listed as a poster.
If you followed along instead of just jumping in, you'd realize what a turd Valo is and he doesn't win but only moves the goal posts when he can.
Show me where I have been proven wrong?

^ There was a poster named Est.1980 Vulcan, I remember very clearly. He seems to be wiped from CP's records for whatever reason though.
Here's a link to a few posts I found by him,

Really, it was obvious to literally every person on CP that Est1980 was a poster here?

Yeah, it was a quote of some kind by someone. The interpretation left something out as to whether Valo endorsed the quote or if it was his own (knowing the poster, it seemed this was a good chance) or as it seems apparent he was trying to mock the poster, which is the juvenial level that Valo's mind runs at.
