I agree, although I hear he can really make an ass out of himself sometimes.

I've heard Zykov is actually a good skater once he gets going but struggles with his initial burst. To me, this seems like something that can be fixed with NHL training/coaching. The fact that the kid came all the way from Russia to play in the middle of nowhere in Quebec says alot to me and I would love to get him.

So then he should be there when the Flames pick at #67 in the third round or even at #97 in the 4th round. If they wait for #135 in the 5th round the Flames got from Columbus for Comeau and he will likely be gone.
Brodie went #114 in 2008 in what was not considered to be a strong draft (12 of the 30 first round picks have not cracked into the NHL as 4th liners or 5/6 d-men)

Took Petan, hope he has some chemistry with Sven, though they only played a year together, and also hope the third forward will be someone as big as Frederik Gauthier...

Head wanted Lazar but my heart went with Morrissey. After Brodie we don't have anyone else of his mold in the system.
In real life Zykov is a late 1st rounder & should still be on the board at 28.

Tough call between Erne (11th on Redline, powerforward), Lazar (12th on ISS, 2nd line centre), Morrisey (17th on Redline, 21 on ISS), Hartman (14th on Redline, skilled agitator) and Zykov.
Hmmm I hope the Flames face as tough a decision as that at #22. I really have no idea who I'd prefer there. Wish I had seen some more of those guys.

Yeah, I'd prefer a defenceman with size over say Morrissey as well. Not because I think Morin will be a better player, we just need the size. The upside is there are a lot of players in the 10-40 group that are thought highly of and we should be able to grab a couple of good prospects with our 22nd and 28th picks.

I disagree. I think he'll be a growing asset over the years.

I am amazed that Adam Erne is not getting more votes. Bill Bumface has 2 more votes than him.

Anyone but Fucale, please.
I like the sound of this Bumface guy, but he came out of nowhere so he may be a bit of a reach. We saw how under-the-radar that went with Jankowski...

I know we have lots of LW'ers but Tangs and Cammy are on the way out sooner rather than later and a 1-2 punch at LW in Baertschi/Zykov with Glencross still here too sounds pretty nice. Almost forgetting Gaudreau who will get a good good look in 2 years time. Plus I like Zykov's style, not ur usual Russian type player, though more and more I'm seeing more physical Russians coming up.
Monahan/Zykov plus another good looking prospect sounds great. I hope the Flames get another first if they can deal tangs or Cammy. Right around this pick too would be fine.
Edit: I over looked our depth at LW when picking this guy because I thought he was a LW, but he is a RWer which is even better!
Baertschi - Monahan - Zykov

Surprised with the sweet North Americans available that the majority have opted for a Russian. I don't think Zykov would be a bad pick here but neither would Morrisey, Erne, Lazar, Hartman, etc.
I ended up going Morrisey and hoping one of the forwards I like is still there at #28.
