Perhaps or maybe he had them made up. I believe min order for a custom bobble head is 1000 pieces so I can't see someone randomly deciding to make up Nenshi bobble heads.
I had single, custom bobble heads made for my wife and I. Definitely no minimum order.
Why do some people always write my avatar as "big time"? Clearly you can see that it is one word with no spaces.
Sorry to bust your chops though StayGolden, you were fishing for the "Nenshi is an egomaniac and loves the sound of his own voice" angle with trying to imply that he bought over 1000 custom bobbleheads so he could have one for himself. That's Calgary Sun comment section level material.

He is a narcissist and and whines about any opposition that comes his way like a man child. I don't like his demeanour at all.
A politician is a public figure are they not. So Nenshi should be open to criticism like any and every other political figure in Canada. So many people feel that criticizing Nenshi is taboo in Calgary why is that.
Are we not in Canada. Every Mayor in the past was open to be criticized but Nenshi is off topic that's rich.
Location: In a land without pants, or war, or want. But mostly we care about the pants.
Exp:
Criticism is one thing, deciding that a bobblehead somehow shows someone has a big ego and is a narcissist is entirely another. It's a freakin' bobblehead, not a 40 foot statue of Chairman Nenshi.

One thing I'm asked a lot about is what he's like behind the scenes. He's exactly the same person you see in public - there is absolutely nothing put-on about him. On a personal level, he's a very, very thoughtful and giving guy a true pleasure to work with every day (same with the whole office in fact). He's a very humble individual, but one more Sexiest Man award from FFWD I'll become worried.
Fun Fact - he also has a Hazel McCallion (Mississauga Mayor) bobblehead on his desk.

Who says you can't criticize? People are merely criticizing your criticism on it's merits, which apparently don't exist.

You are allowed to criticize him all you want.
We are allowed to criticize you for having bad opinions.
Freedom. If you don't like it, move to North Korea! rabble rabble rabble.
Even the YMCA forces low income members to show their income every year to get subsidized gym membership - I find it hard to believe (well not really) that the City doesnt have this same sort of requirement for subsidized housing dwellers.

There's a lot more well-off Calgarians in subsdized housing than that!

I am surprised they don't have anything like that, however I wonder at the way the stats are presented in the article.
From what it says, it is pretty clearly 1200 people, not 1200 units. I wonder if that included kids. I imagine the average family size would be about 3-5 for these types of units, so that means there would likely be around 300 units being abused. That's a pretty sad state of affairs, but what % of the total number of these types of units would that be?
I know some people in subsidized housing, I can't imagine the kind of idiot someone would have to be to continue living there while earning over 100k a year.
