Well not all, I believe Atlus got a lot of flak for Persona 4. That being said, yes most will work for various ps3 systems around the world. The DLC can be problematic though, I think you need a matching PSN account? Could be wrong.

I just read that PS4 will be backwards compatible, can anyone confirm that?
There are a few PS3 games I wouldn't mind playing when I get a PS4.

It won't be - they are setting up a online feed via Gaikai to stream PS3 games in 2014 though.

The box will not be physically backwards compatible but you'll be able to stream the game from the online GaiKai streaming service after launch. I have no idea how they are going to handle that yet. Details have been pretty sparse. Apparently a limited library by early next year.

So how do the pre-orders work with BB/FS? It's asking for shipping info, but I assume it's an in-store pickup?

I believe they are actually shipped. I hope for an in-store pickup option closer to release though.

I never really cared about the used game market as I always preferred to buy new (although wait for price to drop unless it's a A++ release). As a PC player, I'm use to the always online or the periodic sync requirement for games. However, when you look at the MS messaging as a whole, the whole principle of all of it really struck the cord with me. Even if these measures don't really affect me, as a long time Xbox player, I would definitely consider switching over to the PS4 now.
My only issue is to relearn how to use the controller. I don't get it, but for some reason, I was never able to play properly with the PS controllers. Something about the thumb pads that never really worked for me

Sony keeps piling on:
http://www.gametrailers.com/side-mis...raded-like-ps3
The PS4 is confirmed to have a 500 GB hard drive included in every box when it goes to launch later this year. Some users, however, are concerned that the HDD may be too small for those that want to invest heavily into downloadable games. Last night, Shuhei Yoshida, president of SCE Worldwide Studios, confirmed on Twitter that the PS4 will allow for upgradeable hard drives.

One of the best features of the PS3. After signing up for PS+, I quickly realized the stock 80gb drive in mine wasn't nearly big enough. Quick trip to MemEx to get a cheap 500gb drive, upload all my save games to the PS+ storage, and about an hour later after swapping the drive and formatting/reinstalling the system I was up and running. When I ran into the same issue with the Xbox 360 (older unit), I ended up buying the 360 Elite because it was only a little more expensive than their ridiculously overpriced proprietary hard drives

I know what you mean, but looking at the new controller I think it is much better. The thumb sticks now look more like the 360 controller, and are farther apart than the old controller.

Best Buy and Future Shop still have their preorders up. I really hope they aren't over selling the preorders and I get screwed out of mine.

And of course since my credit card expires in September, it won't let me preorder as it's released in December.
I'll have to drop by my parents and steal dads card!

I had a great experience with FutureShop pre-orders on the Wii U. Had it same day release delivered at the office.

Is it fairly easy to cancel a pre-order with Future Shop?

Yes, I have never had problems - though you probably don't want to wait a day or two before release. They often ship it ahead of time and it can be problematic at that point.
But worse case scenario is that you return it in store 30 days after it arrives. Just the gas money and a little time.
