Dagger was PMed this morning. He has until 8:00 am Sunday to make his pick, otherwise the choice will be made for him. If there is no response prior to his next pick, I'll find another GM for Buffalo.

The Buffalo Sabres select from Sault Ste. Marie of the OHL,
defenseman Darnell Nurse.
New Jersey has been PMed.

The Dallas Stars are very happy to select from the London Knights of the OHL, Bo Horvat.

Ristolainen, not a chance he falls out of the top 10. No way Horvat goes before Zadorov. There is a serious obsession with offense on CP, what's up with that? I know defencemen are harerd to project (My friend is Thomas Hickey), but those two guys I mentioned have skill, size, and speed.. How often does that come along?

Dallas going into the draft has the same issue as the Flames, they need centers. That's why I made that Pick. Zadorov and Ristolainen will get picked really quick here. It was either Horvat or Wennberg for me. Horvat is a good fit for Dallas IMO over the two D-men.

I think some people are seriously over valuing Bo Horvat, he had a great Memorial Cup but this kid is not a top 10 pick.

So my pick doesn't sit well in some of your eyes. Get over it. It's a mock draft.
EDIT: Again no one should have to defend their pick in a bloody mock draft. But Dallas could seriously use some size and grit down the middle to play with Benn and Erikksson. Hence the pick.

ISS has Horvat at 9, Ristolainen at 10; Craig Button had them 19 and 25, respectively. Who knows who will be right or close. It's likely the 30 teams have players from 8 to 20ish in any number of different positions. Speaks to the depth of the draft, and how close many of these players likely are at this stage

ristolainen was supposed to be a top 5 pick coming into the year, he scored 15 points in 52 games in pro. 6 points in 6 WJC games. Hes big mean and strong. In any other year other than this and the guy is a shoe-in top five pick. Best D prospect from Finland in as long as I can remember. To be honest I was shocked to see some of the names on the poll for Calgary's first pick, domi over Ristolainen, give me a break.

I heard Risto wasn't very mean and that was the main concern with him... Have I got that wrong??

Possibly along the Boards but I've heard he has a mean net presence when defending the goalie and clearing the front of the net.

im not bashing your pick, I think Horvat is a solid player. I just think you have to go best player avaliable no matter what and top four d-men don't come along everyday

I think enough people have posted proof enough that in fact, top 4-defenceman are easier to find with later picks than impact forwards.

The Phoenix Coyotes would like to thank the CP community for their hospitality over the past few days.
We would also like to acknowledge our fans at the draft party being held at the telephone booth across from Jobing.com arena.
With the 12th pick in the 2013 draft, the Phoenix Coyotes are very pleased to select from the OHL Champions London Knights, Max Domi.
