So I guess the WS folks are sorting a few things in YZD before bringing the Q400 out here. Now hearing it will be Tuesday next week for the delivery flight.

I don't think it's possible for someone to be awaiting the arrival of a dual-prop 70-seater more than Bigtime. Truly the epitome of an avgeek

Haha, this thing is changing eta's more than the Antonov 225 did.
Too bad it looks like Tuesday now, depending on the time I may not be able to catch it, but don't worry there are plenty of other avgeeks that will get the arrival of this new bird.

Another rumour I am hearing with the Tuesday delivery date is that both Q400's will be coming. That would be neat.

Here's a shot of the rare United 757 that operates one flight from Houston on the weekends:

FAIRBANKS — Alaska Airlines’ announcement to switch from jets to mostly outdoor-boarding turboprop planes for its service between Fairbanks and Anchorage has sent many to the company’s Facebook page to vent their frustration with the change.
“To have us board with inclement weather is a step back in time to the late ’60s and early ’70s,” one commenter wrote.
|
I find it a little funny that this would be a problem with the Q400 over running 737's . One comment stated that it would be a shorter walk to the plane than from the parking lot to the terminal.
One thing that on dont believe is that AK is going to be reducing fairs any time soon.

That is funny considering Q400's can use the jet bridges. Both Horizon and AC Express have been using them here in YYC.

They flew right over the store here before landing on the SW side of the field, it was awesome to see. Unfortunately my only heads up was the sound, had my camera in my car too. With a little heads up I could have had some great shots.

For the record Alaska Airlines is AS, not AK. AirAsia is AK. Yes I am that kind of nerd.

I work for a retail building supply company that has a location on 12th street NE and backs on to McCall lake golf course. So I am nice and close to zip over and get photos of the interesting stuff.

If you back onto McCall Lake... ever get any good pictures from the back of your building?

All the time, as long as the sun is cooperating. Like right now there is a Korean Air Lines Cargo 744 almost here, but if they land 34 I'd be shooting right into the sun, so no dice.

Apparently it isn't showing up on Flightaware or Flightradar24. I have heard that it departed Downsview at 1709Z. Don't have any other info besides that.
