Portugal is not going to win the group, Russia has played two less games. So they're playing for the playoff spot.

A win would obviously be huge, but it's not a must win. They are tied with Israel for second spot and need to get more points than them in four games to secure that spot. Israel still has to play away to Russia and away to Portugal. I think Portugal secures second spot. But, that still might not be enough as the Group F 2nd place team is currently in 9th in UEFA and that's not good for a playoff spot.

Big game for sure though but they're far from out if they don't get a full 3 pts.

It's really not a World Cup without Brazil, they've always qualified, they're played in every one!

I'm not sure either of those were yellow cards...especially considering they were the first two fouls he had committed all game.

Reputation yellows for sure for Balotelli.

Well Poland is f***ed.

Stupid freaking team. Haven't qualified for a major tournament since 2008 despite having 4 legitimate star players and consistently producing some of the best goalies in the world. It's so much more frustrating watching Poland suck compared to Canada. At least Canada sucks cause they just lack the talent and the support. Poland should be a top 20 team like they used to be. Hell in the 70's and 80's they arguably floated around top 5-15. I can only imagine what they'd be like right now if they never screwed up their relationship with Podolski.

God I hate sports.

The commentator was so bad, I couldn't help but love it. I can't really rip him, he didn't have a great command of English. I blame whoever gave him the job. The guy clearly wasn't good enough.

Portugal were good in spurts, but not thrilled about their performance. They continue to look shaky in the back despite the clean sheet. Some good finishing from the Russians and we're talking about a draw in this one.

Oh well, Portugal needed points. They still won't win the group, but I don't see how Israel beats them out for 2nd place especially considering they have to play away matches in Russia and Portugal.

When he was reading the Portuguese lineup I was just shaking my head. He was watching the lineup off the screen like I was. When he got to about 8 players down the list, they feed took the lineup graphic away so he was like.. #### I can't remember the last 3 guys.

Seriously if I were Sportsnet I would have gotten Gerry, Craig and Dick to call the game from the studio. Would have been so much more comprehensible.

I'm sure if they knew ahead of time how bad he was gonna be, they wouldn't have used that feed. I am curious to know if they questioned pulling the plug on him and using Gerry from the studio at some point during the game.

It was that bad.
