I've been looking forward to this one for a little while now. Should be some pretty good soccer being played

Both England and Italy have strong sides, should be a good matchup today.

England and Spain are in it to win it! Lots of established players in those squads.

Anybody watch the game today?

Missed it but judging from the box score it looks like the Italians played a good game.

They are a really talented team, especially up front.

Germany are using this as a development tournament. Only 1 German player has a senior cap (Lewis Holtby) compared to 10 Dutch players with senior caps.

The Dutch are playing to win, the Germans are getting some experience for their younger players.

It depends on how the National organization want to treat this tournament. England, Spain, Holland and Italy (to a lesser extent) are fielding a mixture of young players and players with senior experience, Germany are fielding almost exclusively youth system players.

I agree and realize that. But man, that was an ugly first half

Oh it was. That was a 'men against boys' half. They dominated possession and pulled the Germans in whichever direction they wanted.

They were also the beneficiaries of some very sloppy goalkeeping. Leno should have had both of those goals, but on each goal the defence backed off and backed off when they should have pressed and negated the shot.

Holland were easily the better team.

Germans should have made it 2-1 with that shot pulled wide.
