That's all fine and dandy bit Roy is not the GM. He may have some input being that he is VP of Operations but in the end it's Sherman's call (with recommendations from his scouts).

Okay, nothing in life is certain, would it make you feel better if I said he has 99% chance of going first overall. Looking over the "experts" last few mock drafts (TSN, Bleacher Report, ESPN, etc.) all of them were correct with the #1 pick and most were correct top 3. Same experts all have Jones going 1st. There are a plethora of aforementioned reasons why Jones will go to the Avs, and no real concrete reasons why they'd pick MacKinnon.

Sakic literally said he and Roy will be making the decisions when it comes to trade and who to draft. Sherman is a stooge GM now.

Sooo there is a bunch of chatter but 4 picks so far.. I'm interested to know who picks who, I really don't care if the Avs select Jones. There is a different thread for that.

The Carolina Hurricanes are pleased to select,
from Brynas IF in the Swedish Elite League,
Centre/Right Wing Elias Lindholm
Hurricanes select Lindholm to add a top line forward with a shot to play right away following in the footsteps of Jeff Skinner in 2010-11. If he does make the 'Canes opening roster, he'll play right wing with Skinner and Jordan Staal to form a lethal 2nd line.

Nichushkin is hard to pass up here too but I think you take Monahan. If only to keep him away from the Oilers since he is exactly what they need.

Poll request has been made. When the poll become active I figure we can allow at least until Friday at midnight for voting.

Yeah don't think anybody is making up the 110 vote gap.
I recommend continuing with the draft, might even be able to get a second round in then.

2 rounds would be fun! The poll is a landslide.

The Calgary Flames (based on the overwhelming majority of votes) select,
Sean Monahan, Centre, Ottawa 67's.
Edmonton is up, and has been PMed.

Oilers would be foolish if they didn't take Nurse with this pick.

Hardly. If you can get top 5 talent with the 7th overall pick you do it.

Wrong, they have been picking the best player available for years without building a "team"
Just tonight Boston showed what a "team" can do, last year it was LA.

Please remember to PM the next team to help move the draft along.
If we can complete the first round quickly, we may be able to add the 2nd round as well.
