Even though he's not as dominate as he once was, I can not get me enough of Roger Federer. He is a master at his craft. I hope he gets to 20 majors.

So happy Roger got back into form in that match. I really hope he's on the court we have tickets for in the quarters! But I don't think he will be? It's the smaller main court.

You're on Lenglen on Tuesday?
You're probably getting Ferrer-Robredo and two of the women's quarters. Probably Radwanska-Suarez Navarro.

Yup.
Women's Singles - Quarterfinals
Serena Williams (USA) [1]
vs.
Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS)
Men's Singles - Quarterfinals
Tommy Robredo (ESP) [32]
vs.
David Ferrer (ESP) [4]
O'well. I've already seen Federer play twice. We got tickets to the other court on Wednesday so we should get a better line up.

Fed is in trouble and about to lose to Tsonga. Could this finally be his breakthrough?

You rarely, if ever get 2 women's and 1 men's match on show courts at any of the Grand Slams.
Tsonga in the semis. Good for him. Roger is a shadow of his former self now.

Yep I think he is getting very close to hanging on too long.
Time to look for a dignified moment to retire.

God damn it, I hate French crowds. They're so freaking annoying.
At least I get to see Nadal and Sharapova tomorrow! Haven't seen Sharapova play live before and last time I saw Rafa was when he was hurt and got schooled by Del Po at the '09 US Open so it'll be great to see him at his best, at his slam.
Oh! And we stood beside John McEnroe today and my buddy managed to get a pic with him (He told another lady who bugged him while the juniors match he was watching was still on that he wasn't him). Pretty cool.

A QF loss at his "worst" major (one which he's reached the finals of 5 times) is not an indicator that he should retire now. If Fed starts embarrassing himself at Wimbledon or the US open, then we can start talking about when he should hang them up.
It's really up to his tolerance level for what kinds of seeding he's willing to work from. Is he willing to play in tourneys at the #10 position or lower? Or is anything outside the top 4 simply unacceptable? If he couldn't stand being the absolute best in the world then he should have called it quits after 2009.
I've stopped expecting Fed to win anything and take whatever he accomplishes as a bonus. His brilliance is now like a broken light switch that flickers on and off, between matches and sometimes within a single set. But it's still there to see at least. I guarantee none of the other top guys will be able to wow a crowd when they're his age 5-6 years from now.
All that said, go for it Jo, please don't waste this opportunity like so many other upset artists do at every tourney.

I really like tsonga so I hope he can keep playing well but the guy has a weak mind and can totally unravel once he gets flustered

Tsonga has the skills and game to beat the best on any given day. When he's on, I'd fancy him against anyone on tour. Too bad you don't see that guy very often.

Well what I mean is that if Rafa, Nole and Andy are still playing in 2018-19, then sure, they might be hitting some of the same insane baseline missiles they do today. But they all have missed significant time due to injury these last couple years, I'd say odds are somewhat not in their favor.
Don't worry, your clay god is a near lock to take the title again Sunday. I just hope Djoker and/or Jo Willy can inject a tiny bit of drama before that happens.

You just have to love the swings and roundabouts of the WTA.
Sharapova v Jankovic - 0-6, 6-4, 6-3

I won't pay the slightest attention to WTA until Serena gets an actual rival that isn't cowering in her skirt whenever they have to face each other. Yeah I know Serena's the undisputed goat, etc. but unless you're American or a Williams fan, I think she's actually killing womens' tennis. It's not even pretty to watch, no finesse or touch needed, every match is like spectating the clubbing of a baby seal.

Actually the one player that gives Serena a consistant battle is Stosur. Just the type of variety that gives Serena trouble. Unfortunately, Stosur can't beat anybody else.
